Modern regeneration stories usually aren't very good. Parting of the Ways is the only one that comes close and even that's ruined by a very lousy ending. It would be quite ironic if Jodie gets the best send off of the modern Doctors.

Again it's funny but I don't see Michael Keaton, Hugh Jackman, Gal Gadot or Matt Smith who all experienced backlashes for being cast all coming out with the same shit? Could it be because they all accepted that people weren't sure about them when they were announced because on paper they didn't seem like good choices for these particular characters, but they all hoped the quality of their performances would win people round, which they did? With Jodie meanwhile the fact that she was a woman, yes meant that she didn't seem like a good choice, as in spit of all the rewriting canon, pandering, the character of the Doctor does have to maintain a consistency across his different faces, and a gender change is actually a huge thing to bring in which might make it seem like a different character (which is actually more representative of what trans people experience.) Then there is the fact that it was clearly being done for an agenda, that the show had already been pandering to for years before hand. For fans to say that wasn't a good direction was perfectly reasonable Jodie, but you could have at least won some of them round through good stories and a good performance, that tried to channel your predecessors. However, you by your own admission didn't watch a second of the originals. (Dismissing them as just men.) And knew so little about the character you even asked the make up lady about it. Your stories meanwhile reinforced the agenda pandering and you constantly insulted everyone who wasn't on board with the f*cking amazing job you were doing. THAT'S why you tanked and why everyone was pissed. Sadly like Magnus Greel before you, you just shout into the wilderness that it was all a success. Only good thing is that in the words of Lou Reed, Jodie and Chibnall will reap what they sowed when the failure of this tanks their careers. I wouldn't wish that on anyone to be clear, but in this case considering they just keep repeating the same mistakes again and again and again and again, it's hard to feel sympathy for them either. |

Read an alleged leak from someone who attended the premiere, doesn't go into too many specifics about everything, but what happens in it is: -Classic Doctors appear, but not in a 'cameo' or 'post-regeneration trauma' fashion, says they have an 'exciting role'
-We finally see Ace and the Seventh Doctor's final parting in Televised canon]
-Tegan is killed off |

I'm sure all five fans of Tegan will be distraught by that news (assuming it is real).
I am going to watch this just to see Ace and the classic Doctors. Some other characters might pop up too so it's worth a watch at least.
