Jesus, her voice is like nails on a f*cking chalkboard. When you come back to NuWho after having been on a detox for as long as I have, it's truly mind-blowing that something this bad is still being broadcast on the UK's flagship TV channel. It's an embarrassment to the nation. I cannot believe that a director actually shot that scene, decided that what I just watched was an acceptable take, and that the BBC's marketing team then thought that it would be an enticing thing to put into a trailer. As for the plot, are they SERIOUSLY recycling the tired old "Doctor's final hour" trope again? It's bad enough when writers try this shit with any protagonist who has cast-iron plot armour. It was even more cringey and nauseatingly self-indulgent when Fathead did it even though Tennant's regeneration was the only risk on the table. Mufftwat managed to make it even less effective by doing it every sodding year with or without a regeneration on the horizon. Now Chinballs is having a crack at it despite having "confirmed" that the Doctor has (and always had) infinite regenerations and is functionally immortal. Just... why? Where are the stakes? What minute semblance of a reason does anyone have to care about any of this, you lazy, uninspired hack?

The Doctor was never going to be killed off anyway, and he is still capable of dying if you stop both of his hearts at once.

It was intended as a reboot. They just pretended it was a continuation to get the old guard on board, but there was never any intention of honouring the original's style, tone or even central character...

Ace and Tegan vs Cybermen in there. Wonder if we'll get a reference about Adric dying from Tegan.

''As for the plot, are they SERIOUSLY recycling the tired old "Doctor's final hour" trope again?''Can't say I'm surprised. I mean, for all their ''Doctor Who is about change'' bollocks, you could practically make a drinking game out of every NuWho trope that's been used since 2005 and brought back nearly every series ad nasueam. That said, at risk of mangling the liver beyond repair, I can't say I'd recommend it for the finales alone. Let alone a full series.

Zoe Ball is awesome. Can't she be the next Doctor instead?

I can't see anything on any of your posts, Zee. Strange, might have been cribbing the links from GB and they don't show up if you're not logged in. They were all highlights from the press screening last night

Funny I could see it some times, but not others?
It was about how the next Doctor is not being shown at the premier, which leads me to think that the rumours about Ten Inch coming back as the next Doctor for a year before Ncuti are true as why bother hiding it when we know who the next Doctor is if it's Ncuti?
I think Tennant will be the focus of the specials (sorry Iank) and that's why there is an overload of his characters. That's not to say others won't be in it like Matt and Karen, but it looks like a Tennant fest right enough.
