Wasn't the Doctor's memories of that erased? Yes. The Time Lords would erase the Doctors memories of her/his previous lives every time time he/she reached their 13th live and then de-age him/her back to being a child and then create a new identity for them that would be a hero travelling the universe fighting monsters. Hartnell to Capaldi is just the latest cycle. Or, poorly written bollocks, for short.

lol at Janet Fieding dressing up as JNT Ooo, Chibnall as the "Kerblam man". How very appropriate...
Re; Fielding as JNT, i'd be more inclined to be amused if i didn't feel it was a mean-spirited dig on her part. She should've gone as Moffat. Mind you, the pube wig probably would've been even itchier...

They are bringing them back in a bid to bring more fans back after the timeless children abomination . Gotta try to get them ratings back up after the measly two million from sea devils episode

Has Sophie Aldred told Chinballs that a story she was in, had him killed by Cthulu for being a smug git who thought he could make the Circus (based on the show) more entertaining than the old guard?

Sophie and Janet are going to London film and TV con in July. I'd love to meet Sophie personally. What's amusing is that the twins from The Twin Dilemma are going too as is the guy who played Mestor in that same story. All three Twin Dilemma fans are going to be delighted

I've met Sophie and she is very nice. She always comes over as very down to earth and sweet and it is nice to see she lived up to that. Let her know what a stupid thing it was to be in New Who though when you see her.

as is the guy who played Mestor in that same story. Well, that's quite a coup. Don't be surprised if he's a little late...

Actually, on second glance, i'm pretty sure that's another Keir Starmer photo op...

Why oh why do they keep voicing this sentiment? Do they honestly believe for one minute that JNT would have approved of this shit and that having to watch it could have been anything other than a gigantic kick in the nuts..??

Tbh, I don't see why he wouldn't. Sure, a lot of NuWho is reactionary against the 80s, but at the same time, it also inspired people to seek out the classics and develop their own thoughts on them (such as myself). JNT had enough loyalty to Doctor Who to keep on producing it at a tremendous cost to his own career and reputation. He'd just be happy it made it back on screen at all, regardless of whatever shit gets flung in his direction.

He hated Chris Chibnall. He killed a caricature of him in The Greatest Show in the Galaxy so at the very least he would hate his era. JNT also hated the idea of a female Doctor, and he hated hanky panky in the TARDIS, he hated stupid retcons to the shows past, overusing the Daleks, the Cybermen and eventually the Master (hence why all only appear once in the McCoy era) he loved the Brigadier, he hated the show being dominated by a clique, hence why he was always looking for new writers, he also above all else valued the mystery at the heart of the Doctors character (perhaps a little bit too much IE the stupid question mark lapels.) Still for the most part his instincts were sound that way, hence why he didn't do Lungbarrow. Also given how he was mistreated by the BBC whilst the revival got a ridiculous amount of support, (3 million from him up against Corrie and an England qualifier for the World Cup on one side, vs 2 million against the Antiques roadshow on other, yet he is the man who killed it, and the Fitzroy Crowd get another shot.) Also given how it was the Fitzroy crowd themselves who sometimes put the boot into him in some cases like on POV or with their obnoxious fanzines, I can't imagine him having anything other than utter disdain and bitterness towards the revival for the most part. He'd probably be more diplomatic about it in public sure, like he was with the 96 tv movie. His review of that was a bit more diplomatic in public, but those who knew him said he hated it. I'd imagine with New Who, his true feelings much like say Peter Purves would probably trickle through at conventions until eventually he'd just admit what he thought one day. He certainly would never be the arse lickers that Terrance Dicks and Louise Jameson and Sophie Aldred were.

I can't imagine John liking any of that crap personally. I wish he was alive to defend himself against the lies about him spread by the likes of Sadako, though. As it is everyone including Ian Levine practically spits on his grave these days. Ohh John was such a nasty, nasty man!! This is incredibly funny coming from the likes of Sadako and Ian Levine who aren't the nicest people themselves.
