I watched the BBC version of Jekyll and Hyde from 1980. Not bad. I thought David Hemmings was a slightly odd choice for the lead role, but he was OK. Lisa Harrow stole the show though, and appearances were made by Clive Swift, Diana Dors, and Toyah Wilcox. Overall, although very atmospheric; it doesn't quite live up to their 1977 production of Dracula Nevertheless, the Beeb were always great at Victorian/Edwardian period drama in particular. Funnily enough it put me the frame on mind to watch Ghost Light again sometime soon. (Must get that BluRay)... Ghost Light never feels like a studio story. As you say, the BBC were great at period drama. I think they probably still are although Rogue is particularly rough with 21st century dialouge and modern songs being orchestrated in the background.

And I'm not sure one can really call that episode "drama" especially since it revolves around rubbish-looking bird cosplayers and the most laughable romance in the show's history.

England 1-2 Greece
Pile of wank. Never looked like winning the game. Greece actually had the ball in the net five times but luckily three goals were ruled out for offside. These games are becoming almost impossible to sit through. Something has to change.

Chucklevision
Slapstick fun for children but proudly enjoyed by adults across the country. These two were a staple of my childhood. You can see the jokes coming a mile off yet I still find them funny.

Watching Smallville season 4. I forgot that Margot Kidder and Annette O'Toole had a scene together. That's a cute Superman III reunion

I know people are upset, but I reckon there's going to be something special in the mix of styles.

Have Pennyworth on while I write. Really great series. Lord Harwood vs the corrupt British Prime Minister is a fascinating case of evil vs evil, as you really don't know which to root for because both are so vile.

Been enjoy Tim Vine's live shows on DVD. "So I said to this bloke" is definitely one of his best. Very puncentric as well as wordplay which are some of my favourite types of humour.
His latest tour is coming out on DVD next month so I'll definitely be putting that on my Christmas list.

I've acquired a copy of the Tripods. Never seen it actually as it was a bit after time as regards children's SF. I was more The Tomorrow People generation. It could be a while before it works its way up to the top of my ever growing watch pile, but it will be interesting to fill another gap in my SF library.

It was sadly a victim of Michael Grade in 1985 and didn't return for a third year. This was a problem because the series was based on a trilogy of books so only the first two books ended up being adapted.

Yeah I watched 'The Cult of The Tripods' by way of an introduction, and it explained about part 3 of the Trilogy not being made. The producer chappie was understandably bitter about it.

Trailer for Part 2 has dropped and it looks as it good as I was expecting. Love the change of location to Barcelona and the rising stakes. This is such a loving continuation of The Karate Kid and I'll be sad when it finishes.

England Women 3-4 Germany Women - International Friendly
That was a crazy game of football. Sad to be on the losing side, but I adore the Women's German national team so it doesn't hurt all that much.
