I obviously don't need to buy the Blackadder script collection. I might as well just read it all here

The Simpsons - Homer at the Bat. If not my favourite episode then certainly in my top three. I've seen it so many times but I still laugh. The best bit is where Barney is arguing with a softball player about who the best Prime Minister was. He's so passionate about it

A Bit of Fry and Laurie
Why oh why didn't I watch this show sooner? This is class, made during the best period of British comedy.

The recurring businessman skit with Peterrrrr and John is by far my favourite My favourite so far is Laurie sitting in a parked car in the rain talking about his ex girlfriends. It's not even that funny, but I like it. I could watch that sort of thing for hours.

The Eighties - The Deadliest Decade I've never seen a documentary about Rebecca Schaeffer's murder on UK TV before. It hurts watching it, but it's nice to be reminded of what an absolute cutie she was. I found this photo earlier. Chicks with glasses ❤️

Chili Con Carne for dinner before I tuck into the next four episodes of The Invasion followed by episodes of Not Going Out and Red Dwarf to round off the evening. I love Saturday nights!

The Simpsons - Blood Feud
These early episodes are so beautifully produced. Every joke lands and there's such a strong atmosphere around this Springfield that wasn't present in later years, even in the classic age. I much prefer this Homer as well. He's flawed certainly, but he isn't an unlikeable idiot yet.

Season 2 is really where the show hit its stride. It was great until Season 9, but 2-4 is the warmest period of the series for me and the one I revisit the most.

Not Going Out - Series 1
I love this show. The first series is a bit strange in retrospect because it's the only series that doesn't feature Lucy which means the episodes are sorely missing that successful Lee Mack/Sally Bretton chemistry. Tim Vine is on hand to deliver some great humour though and I've always liked Kate even though she's nowhere near as funny as Lucy. I also find it strange that this was made in 2006 yet some of the jokes would not fly on TV nowadays. It's crazy to think how things have changed in less than twenty years. Anyway, I might as well binge watch the whole lot again until the next series airs. It's definitely my favourite sitcom from the 21st century.

Not Going Out - Series 2
Lee pretends to be gay, Tim accidentally dates a stripper and Lucy enters the show in arguably the best series of the bunch. The episode "Gay" is one of the top five sitcom episodes ever. I've seen it before, but I was still pissing myself throughout this evening. Lee Mack really is the master of puns. I also like the arc running through the series of Lee trying to expose Lucy's boyfriend Guy as a seedy gangster.

Finished Series 2. This is still the best line in the entire show that Lee says in regards to someone he believes to be a gangster:
Lee: "I thought he was going to do a Michael Jackson on us. Take us to the top of a ferris wheel and toss us off!"
Looking forward to revisiting Series 3.

I watched the BBC version of Jekyll and Hyde from 1980. Not bad. I thought David Hemmings was a slightly odd choice for the lead role, but he was OK. Lisa Harrow stole the show though, and appearances were made by Clive Swift, Diana Dors, and Toyah Wilcox. Overall, although very atmospheric; it doesn't quite live up to their 1977 production of Dracula Nevertheless, the Beeb were always great at Victorian/Edwardian period drama in particular. Funnily enough it put me the frame on mind to watch Ghost Light again sometime soon. (Must get that BluRay)...
