I always wanted to use this song in a Veronica Sawyer tribute video.

I always think of Winona Ryder when I listen to New Order actually. I've never understood why. I just associate the two together now.

I think their music suits Winona quite well. I think of certain chicks when listening to bands. I always think of Elisabeth Shue listening to Survivor's love songs and Lea Thompson during Huey Lewis and the News romance tracks.

I bought The Best of Roxy Music today at HMV. I wish I had bought their Avalon album instead. I assumed most of their music was like "More than This," "Avalon," and "Over You" but a lot of the compilation is very mid 70s rock which is fine but I was hoping for some more softer synth based stuff. Still a decent purchase for the price.

Talking of synth pop, I strayed onto a YouTube video demonstrating the model of synth used by Gary Numan, and the settings for his particular, now iconic sound. Turns out it was just a pre-set sound he used, so if you have that particular vintage synth, it's very easy to sound exactly like Gary Numan. If I had the money and the space, our house would be full of toys like that. 😁

Speaking of Gary Numan, "Are Friends Electric" is one of my favourite songs ever. It often finds its way on 80s compilations, but it's actually a late 70s song.

Well it's 1979, so you could think of it as proto-'80s. Which synth did Keff use? Numan used a Polymoog. Here;s the video I was talking about:

A comment on this video stuck out to me:
"My dad left me before I was born. When I watched this as a kid I always imagined my dad was Lincoln Hawk."
I felt the same way. Not just with Hawk, but with Stallone in general. As a teenager I didn't have that male figure in my life so Stallone was it. He was the guy that taught me resilience through his movies.

I think the main one was a Roland S-50 .
