It's funny how things can just pop into your head for the first time in years. I don't know what made me want to suddenly go and listen to this song from my childhood again, but I'm glad I did. I'm not really a fan of rap music to be honest, well male rap artists. I LOVE female rappers. Nothing sexier than female rappers like Misha B. f*ck me does her rapping do things to me.
As for the guys, yeah never that keen. Sadly I think that scrotum faced, shit stain of a f*ck face Eminem soured me on the whole thing LOL, but still I do really like this song from Gorillaz, that for some reason is called Clint Eastwood, even though it has nothing to do with him LOL. It's like that Lady Gaga song John Wayne, though at least these guys picked a better western actor. Someone should do one called Lee Van Cleef though, he is the best western actor.
I also really LOVE the video too. I admit though this is one of these songs where not only is the video more iconic, but it also has one bit that really stands out, whilst the rest is a bit average. Kind of like the "ho, ho, ho it's magic" or "War what is it good for." In this case it's the classic "I ain't happy. I'm feeling glad. I got sunshine in a bag, I'm useless but not for long. The future (that's right) is coming on. It's coming on, it's coming on. It's coming on, it's coming on."
Still that's enough for this to be a funny, offbeat classic for me, and evidently one that has appeal even to people who don't normally bother with the genre.
It's good every once and a while to branch out of your comfort zone. In my case that's singers with an XY chromosome LOL.

Had to hear this after Beyonce's version. Her being egocentric enough to think she could cover this song is as bad as when she thought she could cover Back to Black. PS anybody always think that Dolly's boyfriend had more reason to worry about her running off with Jolene than vice versa LOL. The way she describes how beautiful she is, I don't know sounds like Dolly seems to be a bit into Jolene. Maybe that's the plot twist? Maybe his dreams are his nightmares of his girlfriend running off with Jolene.

Also love, love this one from Dolly too.
Karl Marx needn't have bothered spending all those years writing Das Kapital. She summed it up in a nice up beat diddy LOL.

My favourite song from the Rocky IV soundtrack. Never heard a female cover of it before. She's very good!
