Been listening to a lot of Bobbie Gentry. She is so gorgeous and has such a brilliant voice.
I must admit I have a bit of a soft spot for her as she looks sooooo like a friend of mine. I've known this girl for years and she is such a sweet, caring ducky type. She really helped me not long ago when I was in the grips of an agonizing depression and made me feel valued when I thought I was worthless. She also recently gave birth to two twins and they are like their mother insanely adorable! Still even without the nice feeling of being reminded of this wonderful lady, I'd still obviously be a fan of Bobbie she's got an absolutely amazing voice.
Best version of this song by far.

Really on a Bobbie Gentry kick right now.
This is one of the greatest songs ever written.
Isn't a southern accent on a woman, one of the greatest things in all of creation? I mean to be fair most things on a woman are LOL. From big noses to dark hair, but still a southern accent is just, Jesus Christ!

This is the best version of the song. I enjoy the album version, but it's obviously inferior to the one that played in the film itself.

Susanna Hoffs is a very underrated singer.
As far as I know all she's really done that's major is her work with Mike Myers.
Shame as she has a gorgeous voice.
This is so much better than the original. I always hated Cilla Black. The line "if only fools are kind then it is wise to be cruel", is definitely something she lived by, at least according to everyone who ever met her LOL.
Again I'd say this is an improvement on the original too. Shame she never did a Bond song.

Probably my favourite Hans Zimmer score. He clearly plagiarized some of his work from this music for his Batman Begins score. 1:12 is pretty much the same as 3:42 on the Batman Begins track |
