Godfather!!! I honestly just adore that whole Soul/Funk/Motown era from about the mid 60s to the mid 70s. Some of the greatest artists to ever do it; Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind & Fire, Smokey Robinson, Jackson 5, of course soul brotha no. 1 James Brown himself. Definitely not the most lyrically sophisticated music ever written, but imo deeply spiritually intelligent at its core and just a whole lot of fun, which is what music should be.

Oh they're all great yeah, honestly I'm not the type to analyse music too much, it just depends whether it hits or not

Listening to some of the Bonzo's stuff. It's a great laugh.
I hate to say though the lyrics of this song remind me of David Tennant's version of the Doctor 100 percent. My father who loves the Bonzos and introduced me to them f*cking hates David Tennant with a vengeance. He wasn't too happy with the comparison, though he said he did like the idea of the Tennant Doctor not existing in the final lyric LOL.

Mary Weiss has such a pefect voice. The song is actually quite sad and she's good at conveying that.

Who doesn't get a warm sensation listening to these oldies? Makes me want to go to a diner, share a milkshake with a cute girl while the jukebox pumps this out.

Doctorin' the Tardis lol
As one reviewer states, it captures the time better than most serious songs of the era. It does exactly what it sets out to do with flying colours, and seems to be the perfect epitome of...something, though I'm not sure what. This novelty single is somehow drenched in esoteric mystery despite its rawness. The Gary Glitter sample is the piece de resistance. A genuine 10/10.
