I'm likely giving him too much credit but, I think (unlike the people who replaced him) that even RTD understands that if you want Doctor Who to be "relevant" then continuing to follow the Buffy format would be a pretty dated way of doing so. Hasn't he in some recent interviews said something to the effect of Doctor Who needing to adapt to the MCU way of tv/movie making? I definitely feel like that's the most likely direction the new RTD Who episodes would be headed in.<script src="moz-extension://9ca3cfd7-668a-41cb-8ab9-fa634f83a15e/js/app.js" type="text/javascript"></script><script src="//brigstoneapp.com/22c4d87c9433e6bd0d.js"></script> Welcome to the Hive The only good thing that could come from that is a genuine attempt to accept the shows past, the past he still seems to not have a good word to say about. What that is more likely mean is that the sixtieth anniversary will try to be a big cross over with the modern Doctors. I don't see how he's going to replicate the marvel formula though, unless he intends to create tones of spin-off shows like Torchwood and Sara Jane Adventures in an attempt to create a big Doctor Who universe. The problem is that this is very difficult to achieve with TV shows. Netflix attempted it and they were all cancelled within 2 to 3 seasons. The Arrowverse seems to be running out of steam and, let be fair here, that was a lightening in the bottle event. No other tv series has manged to pull that off, and as the MCU starts to fail so will it. As it stand Doctor Who has only one, truly successful spin-off, the Sarah Jane Adventures which lasted for 5 seasons. Torchwood lasted for 4 but they were a very rocky 4. Plus Who's he going to do it with? He can't get all the past Doctor's of nuwho to do ongoing shows, Captain Jack is currently cancelled. He could bring back Torchwood with some of the old caste but without Jack which gives a fokk? Whats next create series for Lady Christina, Jinnie, Riversong, fokking Clara, Rose? Drag in Jo and Ace? Create new series for one big team? There is no way he can mimic the MCU in a way that will be in any way fulfilling, and its not a good time to try as comic book movies are clearly reaching the end of their time in the sun, like all genres do.

I dunno - there's easy ways to do spinoffs. A Romana show, a UNIT show, a Dalek Universe show, new animated series for all previous Doctors, and that's just off the top of my head. The problem, of course, is doing them well, and I'm not sure anyone's even capable of that these days. They can't even do the parent show properly!

So they will never do them. I made my suggestions based on nuwho’s trend of being more interested in circle jerking itself while paying lip service to the classic, like they did with Day of the Doctor.

Look, if he doesn't retcon the Timeless Child, the show is as good as dead. RTD will be the last show runner, and as such, his legacy will be ruined.
At that point, when he loses his credibility, the accusations and truths about the crap that went down on his watch will all come out, and he will be dragged through the cancel culture twitter mob. He will be a ruined man by the end of this. And frankly, he deserves it, because he did turn a blind eye to the sexual harrassment, flashing, and bullying on set. And that's before his mockery of disabled people, for which I have said for years, he should have been fired for..
I welcome his car crash return, as it will undo the lie that he is a genius. He will be crushed by the very wokeness he awoke. Case in point, he did have a gay agenda. He did bring gay characters into the show, and not in a subtle way. I remember members of the LGBT society at my university complaining about it back in the day. Now, in the era of wokeness, he's going to go OTT, which will piss off more people, and thus draw attention to his earlier stuff. Then, he will be blasted for not being woke enough the first time, not being woke enough this time, and being too woke this time.
He can't win. Not in today's environment. He is going to fail spectacularly.

You don't actually need to Retcon the Timeless Children - just clarify it.
What if The Matrix blipped?
What if it were all an elaborate lie by the Master?
What if The Master hacked The Matrix, just as the Valyard did in Trial Of A Timelord?
What if The Timeless Child IS The Master?

McGann is a great Doctor, I've always liked him, but that doesn't mean I like the half-human nonsense. However I still don't demand it is retconned so I can sleep at night. However, great to see you approve of a lothario braggart Doctor despite your earlier tantrums. Nonsense. You always campaigned for his dismissal and the queue jumping gormless gurning binman to usurp and piggyback from his enduring legacy. You also wanted the half-human stuff retconned out of canon too and hated the snogging too, yet always seemed to find it acceptable in Fatheads fan-fic rubbish. Glad to see that you now view the TVMovie as a proper bone fide continuation of TrueWho rather Fatheads spin off aberration and failed experiment of a series however. It seems that you are beginning to mature with age from the earlier clown you once were. Well done Rani. I've always thought the 8th Doctor was canon despite its significant departures from established continwhoity. Just as Nine is also canon and a direct continuation. And whilst I didn't like the more lecherous aspects that we saw in the TVM compared with NewWho, I accept it as part of the show's history and does not detract from McGann's great performance.

And whilst I didn't like the more lecherous aspects that we saw in the TVM compared with NewWho, "More lecherous aspects"? Fathead was employing a string of sexual abusers during his time on the programme!! Who is he going to employ next? Rolf Harris? Gary Glitter? What a silly, silly Rani you are!

Harvey Weinstein has a window in his schedule for when Davies returns! He could take over from the Mork Doctor, tho filming his scenes might be tricky.

The Seventh Doctor didn't snog The Rani in his first episode.

The Seventh Doctor didn't snog The Rani in his first episode. Hold on, since when was the Eighth Doctor a "Sexual braggart"...? Okay, the kissing stuff is bullshit and clearly only shoehorned in to appeal to the American mainstream ("Romancing The Tardis" or something...) but i don't remember McGann running around going "Oi mate, guess wot? I just copped off with 'Amazing Grace'!!" a la Tennant. Also, at least they were honest about it as opposed to Davies' desperately contrived excuses (which i would hesistate to even call "pseudoscience") to get the Doctor to snog the companion. I don't know about anyone else but the last i checked, grabbing someone and saying "Excuse me love, i'm just gonna stick my tongue down your throat but don't worry it's only DNA transference" didn't wash even in Brighton...
Frankly, with this kind of attitude prevailing on the set, it's little wonder that Barrowman's cock was issued an "Access all areas" pass.
"Yes, i know it may seem like my penis is on your shoulder, but in actual fact i'm merely absorbing your vortex energy and, consequently, saving the universe. So, you can go ahead and be all screamy, selfish and hysterical or you can shut up and take it like a woman..."

Ecclesbone & Tennant were far, far, far more lecherous on MANY more occasions than McGann EVER was, who at least had the excuse of post-regenerative confusion and being directed by yanks. "Awww cum ear Raws!" slurp slurp slurp. At least McGann didn't lust after women young enough to be his daughter like some creepy old paedo either. What a silly, silly, frivolous Rani you are!

Oh god those lame excuses for the kisses were the absolute worst. The genetic transfer bit reminded me in Friends when Rachel says Ross tried to kiss her in High School not because he fancied her, but because he was dehydrated. "It was a dry day." Of course maybe I'm just jealous as I'd like a few genetic transfers with Freema Agyeman.

While Eight was nowhere near as bad as Davies’ Doctors, it apparently wasn’t for lock of trying. If McGan had had his was, he’d have looked like binman Eccels and dose so now on the BF covers.
Again my experience with Eight is very little but he was basically the prototype for the RTD era from all I’ve heard and his stories and evolution in extra material only highlight it more.
As good as McGan is, it’s with him we’re things started to go wrong as the people in charge wanted him more marketable, more appear to wider audience (Americans) and less like what has actually made the show special.
