I don't like Hinchcliffe era Tom Baker particularly in stories such as Arc in Space and Pyramids of Mars. He's an absolute blast in the likes of Nimon and City of Death though. Some criticise him for acting like a complete prat in those Williams seasons, but I love him like that.

To me he hits peak Tom about Deadly Assassin and stays there thru Shada, with Meglos and Decay being the last gasps of him at his peak.

Confession: I really like the whole of ' The Trial Of A Timelord' Season. My favourite part is ' The Mysterious Planet', but really, I enjoy all 14 episodes - the courtroom scenes, Lynda Bellingham, Michael Jayston, Tony Selby, Brian Blessed, Geoffrey Hughes, the lot. I bought the VHS set (remember the Tardis Collector's Tin?) from a second hand shop back in '98, went home and watched it all in one day, and simply loved it. I know it's generally despised, but I don't care.

Mysterious Planet Vervoids and the Ultimate Foe are pretty ok episodes in spite of their flaws and Mindwarp is one of the few cases were of so bad it’s good for me. The caste and particularly Sil have me pissing myself laughing.

Mysterious Planet and Ultimate Foe are average but I like the character of Glitz a lot and there's some nice humourous moments in both. Mindwarp is the worst of the bunch by a very long way. The other three are flawed but watchable enough, but Mindwarp is NuWho bad. Watching it makes me seriously depressed. Vervoids is the cure for it. I love Yolande in it and Mel is kick ass too. Actually, I rather enjoy Pip and Jane's work for the series, even Time and the Rani.

"The War Machines is overrated bollocks" I've always considered it to be one of the best Hartnell stories myself. A great introduction for Ben & Polly. Bollocks is perhaps an extreme way of describing it but I honestly have always found it a snooze fest and have found more enjoyment in the universally panned Myth Makers and Gunfighters. The Myth Makers is fantastic. It's a crying shame that it's gone. I don't understand why some people don't like especially when something like The Romans is given a free pass.

Watching 'The Web Of Fear' is my first blurry Who memory -therefore it should mean a lot to me, for nostalgia's sake, if nothing else. Yet apart from Episode 1, I don't really like it. It's boring, samey and over-long -the backwards and forwards action along the same Underground tunnels gets awfully repetitive, Victoria is irritating and whines through all six episodes (Thank God she leaves in the next story) and the redesigned Yeti look ridiculous. I know they were supposed to look scarier, but I preferred the original 'The Abominable Snowmen' version ( but TBH, I would have preferred an altogether different, less fluffy alien menace in this story than the Yeti). Up until a recent rewatch, I was always very fond of this particular tale - ( I liked the gritty, military vibe of 'Web, the claustrophobic setting and the introduction of Lethbridge Stewart) and so I feel a bit bad slagging off a serial from my beloved '60's era - a childhood memory - but I really struggled with watching it all the way through this time. Oh well.

She was kidnapped and I did some detective work in order to find her. She was saved, but sadly not by me. To be honest, I actually like Victoria as a companion. She's a darling really.

Your dream is basically the plot of The Evil Of The Daleks ( well, part of it) and I'd say its a subconscious manifestation of your excitement and anticipation for next month's animated release of Evil on Blu-ray/DVD. Of course, I do like Debbie Watling very much and Victoria was perhaps the prettiest of the '60s companions (my very first crush!), but also, sadly, one of the most annoying (even more so than Dodo, but you may disagree).
