I really like Coronation Street, even though I'm not British. I've watched the first seven episodes this week Alison King who was in Coronation Street is one of the most beautiful women of all time. That said she's been a bit wasted. Whilst Carla is a good character, in all honesty Alison should have got Famke Janssen, Claire Stansfield roles as sexy, dominatrix, man eating villains and monster babes. Shobna Gulati was also gorgeous too as was Mad Maya, (there's a scene where she jumps on top of Shobna whilst the latter is in bed and in her underpants and starts stroking her hair. It's supposed to be scary but all I'm thinking is how did either actress remain straight LOL.) Sadly I dumped Corrie this year in fact as it went through a drop in quality almost comparable to DW over the last few years. Best dramatic arcs for me were. Richard Hillman (the absolute best of them all, with Richard being the best villain they ever had.) Mad Maya Tracy killing Charlie. Tony Gordon going nuts. Frank Foster. Try and find them on youtube if you can.

I watched the Hillman stuff and the borderline psycho teenage David PLatt storylines on YT earlier this year. Enjoyed them though not seen anything else since.

I watched the Hillman stuff and the borderline psycho teenage David PLatt storylines on YT earlier this year. Enjoyed them though not seen anything else since. David Platt was another legendary character. He was f*cking hilarious. How could I forget to mention him? I think it's because his mental phase lasted years. I mean some of the shit he got away with stretched credibility, but it didn't matter as he was just so entertaining. A girl I knew worked on Corrie and said the David Platt actor is a great guy with a hilarious sense of humour and was always up for a good laugh about how absurd his character was haha.

List of things that David Platt has done and got away with.
Burned a woman alive (seriously. It was an accident and she didn't die but it still only happened because he was trying to blow himself, the killer of his wife and several police officers up.)
Pushed his mother down the stairs.
Faked his suicide to ruin his sisters wedding.
Lied about a murder case in order to blackmail Tracy into shagging him.
Tried to kill his brother and left him with brain damage.
Nearly run his daughter over.
Almost beaten a soldier to death in a boxing ring.
Yet in spite of this he still lives in the home he grew up in and is a family man and hairdresser LOL.
To be fair to David though he has also been put through an insane amount of shit. I mean the guy has had about 10 different supervillain origin stories at this stage.
He's been almost drowned by his step dad who is a serial killer, tortured by his psychotic neighbour, been drugged and raped, beaten up by gangsters, attacked by his wife wielding a crowbarr, had his wife die in his arms, been beaten in the street, had his first girlfriend who he still cared about be murdered and watched her die, had his brother sleep with his wife, and had to bury a gangster who threatened his family under his floorboards.
If that shit didn't drive you to a mental breakdown I don't know what would?

I adore Time and the Rani. I think it's beautiful. Not only do I love the pink sky of Lakertya, the synth heavy score, the dynamic direction and the incredible model shots/visual effects, but I also rate Kate O'Mara as one of the most entertaining villains in the entire series. Of course the wig stuff is rather silly, but when she takes it off she's an absolute hammy badass clenching her fits and shouting, "nothing can stop me now!" I really need to binge Season 24 again. It's actually been a while since I've watched it.

Dalek is mawkish, overrated crap. I can't believe how badly this has aged yet it still ends up in the top twenty in polls. Rise of the Cybermen is a far better return episode for an old foe.

I don't really understand all the fuss around The Aztecs. I like it, it's a good little character story, but it's not in my top 5 historicals.

Dalek is mawkish, overrated crap. I can't believe how badly this has aged yet it still ends up in the top twenty in polls. Rise of the Cybermen is a far better return episode for an old foe. I enjoyed Dalek, but I agree it was overrated. It also wasn't in hindsight the best way for the Daleks to return. To start with it didn't really sell their evil as the Dalek only kills people who locked it up. It's almost heroic breaking free and killing its captors. Meanwhile there's also its bond with Rose, and finally in terms of how it made the monsters menacing having it that one could destroy an entire planet set them up for a fall. It meant that no matter what unless every Dalek story is a repeat of that, then they'd seem less impressive, which is pretty much what every new who fan has said about their appearances since Dalek. I still say it's better than Jubilee though which is such overrated, mawkish, pretentious horse shit. Best return of an old foe story is Utopia for me. Not only is it a fantastic story all around, but ironically given what they'd do to him in the Moff era, the Masters return is actually really well done too. Ironically even though you know it's coming, it's still on the edge of your seat stuff.
