but I wonder how folk would have reacted if Jodie Whittaker's first appearance in the show had seen her tearing around the console room, with her bare legs and knickers showing? joy I don't really fancy JW but I understand the kind of joy you mean.

Funny my mate Omie pointed out to me that it's quite funny RTD who is so careful not to stereotype made the Toymaker German to tap into the old cliche of Germans being bad guys LOL.
NPH's German accent was like the one Alan Partridge does on his radio show and is then told not to by his boss because it's racist LOL.

You know I hate to say it, but he is a more embarrassing ambassador for the show than even Jodie. At least Jodie was doing a bad Tennant/Matt Smith impression. I don't know what the hell this is meant to be.

Viewers are 4,62 million for that episode and Ncuti Gatwa's first story. I'm not sure, but I think that is the lowest they have ever been for a first Doctor story? Even with the fiddled viewers, this will be lucky to scrape above 6 million. Like I said in the viewers thread, 6 million is worrying, whilst 4 million is crisis point. Either way it's not a good sign for the quadruple whammy of, a big American star (or so they think), the 60th anniversary special, David Tennant's finale, the first of a new Doctor. I mean how does an episode like that not get 10 million ffs? Moffat must be laughing his f*cking arse off at this stage. It's dead boys. We'll get two more series only because RTD insisted back when he had pull, but honestly. DW is toast. A part of me wonders if Ncuti's last series will just be tucked away in the summer death slot like Primeval series 5 was? What would have been needed is a Doctor Who that distinguishes itself from the Chibnell era. The problem is that RTD2 just looks too much like the Chibnell era. The Chibnell era being a poor parody of RTD1. The old show survived on radical change. The new show never changes, never ever questions itself. So people are just sick of it. Humans can only put up with so much repetition.
Why is Doctor Who having an adult take so repellent to them? I believe Christopher Nolan was quite successful with his Batman series. 18 years in to Nupoo, not a sign of it. Still, let us celebrate, the Fitzroy is no longer a pub, it's a sinking ship.
Digital cinematography. Yuck

I find it funny that JNT got lambasted for inserting himself into the character of the Doctor, and still is in some corners, yet RTD turns the Doctor into his hyper gay stereotype fantasy and we are all supposed to clap brain dead seals.

I find it funny that JNT got lambasted for inserting himself into the character of the Doctor, and still is in some corners, yet RTD turns the Doctor into his hyper gay stereotype fantasy and we are all supposed to clap brain dead seals. One look at Davison, Colin and McCoy should dispel that theory. They're all entirely different from one another. Meanwhile, if you look at Matt Smith's performance in Sarah Jane Adventures, it's not the Eleventh Doctor at all. He plays the same RTD Doctor as Eccleston and Tennant.

Suddenly hit me, RTD has a problem with black people for a man who keeps banging on about how woke he is. He really does. Martha's season was nothing but a tribute to the previous white companion. Now we've got a black Doctor Who, his whole era is going to overshadowed by a previous white Doctor on the substitutes bench. Centrist liberals like RTD are full of unconscious imperialism.

Gatwa is definitely receiving the second hand treatment.
So far:
1. He has been superimposed into An Adventure In Time And Space which, effectively, is just a hand-me-down moment that was originally Smith's. If they are serious about establishing the Gatwa brand, which they absolutely should be, then give the man his own moment. There were heaps of ways this could have been done. The Children In Need Special, as tone deaf as it was, with Davros would have been a good time.
2. He now exists in the same timeline simultaneous to a legacy Doctor who has his own TARDIS, and can travel space at any time. RTD knows that Tennant is, by a significant majority, a favourite Doctor. Did he not realise that he was sidelining Gatwa by doing this?
Capaldi understood this so much better:

I want a candid interview with Capaldi so freaking bad. I know it will probably never happen cause he's a gent, but I don't doubt he has some very spicy opinions about what the show's been since it came back

Is it true that during his first season he had an on-set tantrum about one of the scripts, only to order re-write of a scene on the spot?
