I can't be bothered. I'd much rather buy Tom Baker serials at the moment. Some proper, authentic Who rather than someone's weird "reimagining" of it. I have never eyed The Collection more. I've also got a few VHS tapes of classic episodes, so I can feel my physical media Dr. Who binge coming on.

Honestly between this and the latest vandalisation of the Master, DW is quite unique in the history of art, entertainment for how little respect there is for it among its so called fans. The idea that anybody would look on Ian Levine as a sad pathetic loser for wanting an authentic version of the actual f*cking story is, I don't know what to say?

Bullied kid syndrome, as I said before. Years and years of amassing bitterness and then you end up in a circle where for once you're not completely bottom of the pile, and to get a leg up you kick down at whoever is, which by popular vote would be someone like Levine.

I can't get over how god awful this looks. They've wasted lord knows many months on this when they could be slogging on with getting more acceptable 2D animations done for less celebrated episodes like the Highlanders or the Smugglers.

Amazon are delivering it tomorrow. Somewhat excited just to own one of my favourite Hartnells.

Amazon are delivering it tomorrow. Somewhat excited just to own one of my favourite Hartnells. I'm interested to see what you think. From the images I've seen, the likenesses are terrible. The worst so far. But some people are saying the trippy animation style suits the story. Also, how does the recon look? I wasn't planning on getting this one to be honest, but I might be swayed once it's been sold off cheap if the recon has been cleaned up.

There's no holds barred with Levine. 😆

I can't countenance spending money on such crap.

I didn't mind it. It was nice to experience this story (which I love) in a different way. They've cleaned up the surviving episode really well, too. Only seen a bit of the recon, but it looks fine.
Not a bad release. The animation can be quite clunky, but it isn't quite as woeful as the Web of Fear one.

The photo gallery is gorgeous. Lots of beautiful colour photos that I haven't seen before. Apart from the audio they're the closest you'll get to actually experiencing the first three episodes as they were intended.

I dl'd it. Won't really have chance for a proper look until tomorrow, but this might give an idea to the curious.

The animation of the characters is not great, and the likenesses are the worst yet. Steven's expression seems to be permanently stuck on 'smelling a fart'.... but the rest of it isn't quite as bad as I'd feared. It's easy to see why they chose this one to be more experimental. I don't think I'll exactly be a fan of it as an animation though. I doubt if I'll bother watching it again. It IS a very imaginative story though. I did find it hard to get through on audio only when it was released on CD. You do need visuals of one sort or another to get the best out of it. Not had chance to look at the recon and spruced up episode yet. I'm saving the best 'til last.

You also get the choice of listening to the Peter Purvis narration as well. I'm quite happy with the release. Not sure what the Escape Room is all about, though. The time of it is well over an hour. It just looks like a typical DVD/Blu ray extra.
