"Why did this face come back?"
Desperation Donna. Greed fueled desperation.

"Why did this face come back?" Desperation Donna. Greed fueled desperation. "Well Donna it's very simple. You see the clique who run my show, and have done so since the 90s decided to turn me into a woman and adopt a "there is no identity to the show, let's focus on smashing the past up than in moving forward." They were all told by fans again and again that it would be an absolute disaster yet plowed on anyway and did videos where they had the lead actress insult fans. Also rather than really look for an unusual actress whose charisma might just win people over at first, who really is like a female counterpart to me, IE a crazy, Tim Curry, Tom Bakeresque shameless ham, like Morgana Robinson or Susan Wokoma. They lazily just cast their friend who should be in dreary soap operas (to be fair nepotism has always been how they do things) who was also so clueless on how to play me, she dismissed all of the splendid chaps who've played me before as "celebrating the male gaze", yes even Sylvester McCoy, and asked the make up lady whilst filming her second series if she knew anything about me. This of course only added to the backlash. However rather than do the decent thing and admit they failed, and let the franchise rest for a few years before a new generation who may get what I'm all about, could have a crack at my wonderful story. They decided to buy the rights to it and are now hoping they can cling onto me as a pension fund. I'll be celebrating my 100th anniversary before I'm finally free of them my dear. Word of advice. Don't ever visit the Fitzroy Tavern. That afternoon of drinks with Sarah Jane in that tavern ended up having more disastrous consequences for me than that trip to Skaro with Chasserman, Barbara and Susan.

I'm surprised we haven't had a short story or BF audio with Fitzroy Tavern in it's title....
Actually, has any BF audio involved it in a story? There's way too many to check to see if it did for me. Might have to search the TARDIS wiki.

Might have to search the TARDIS wiki. There is. London 1965. It has Ian and Barbara go to drink in the Fitzroy Tavern after the events of the Chase, where they are caught up in a plan by the Animus wanting revenge. tardis.fandom.com/wiki/London,_1965_(audio_story) It's honestly like Clockwork's Dick Briggs parodies at this point LOL.

You'll have to google London 1965 doctor who to find the story. For some inexplicable reason whenever I post a link to the story London 1965 it takes me to the TARDIS datacore article about London instead of that story? It's insane because I am very clearly clicking on a link to the story.

I mean, it's only an ident, what do you expect? It's a little nostalgic if anything. I wonder if we'll all be clawing for the BBC to come back one network television is dissolved entirely and streaming services take over.

That's the first time I've ever heard it referred to as an ident. It's been called a teaser AFAIK. And a crap one. Is there any difference between the BBC's pap and the streaming services these days?

Actually streaming services are likely to produce better content. Currently watching Disenchantment on Netflix and it's great. Much better than anything I've seen on the BBC in ten years.

I get the feeling their going to canonise Peter Cushing doctor in this anniversary. Cushing once said he liked to think his Doctor was one from the future, forced to live out old adventures by the Toymaker.

Cushing once said he liked to think his Doctor was one from the future, forced to live out old adventures by the Toymaker. Really? I always thought he was generally disinterested in the role, apparently not mentioning it at all in his autobiography.
