Still even if New Who was a good sequel, we are going to have to go to an alternate universe or a reboot somewhere down the line. Is DW airing in 2075 still going to be following the same continuity as now? It's likely, yes. They're never going to humiliate the Moffat/Chibnall production teams like that. As long as someone can keep it on the air, it will continue following the same canon.

Rebooting would be a pointless exercise, honestly. Everyone and their dog - including the press - would just refer back all the time anyway. Just decanonise the Timeless Children and never mention Jodie or genderswapping ever again.

Smithy being back has been teased by a Twitter photo apparently seeing him in the TARDIS doorway on the 60th set. It looks like it could be a photoshop job, only... it was posted by one of the directors of the specials! Would seem a very odd tease to do if he wasn't in it!

You really want to see him back in the dumpster fire the show is now though? If Missy is back I'm going to be so pissed off.

There's nothing I'd tune in to see more than a failing show self-congratulating itself.

The "dumpster fire" ends this year though. We have no idea what the next era will be like. I choose to be optimistic, and to be happy that it looks like my fave modern Doctor (and probably fave modern companion) will be back for an anniversary.

What dumpster fire? It's the best thing on TV right now! I'd even go as far as to say it's even better than it was, say, forty years ago. What I love so much about the Chibnall is tha- help, they've got me at gunpoint! They're making me say these things. Please don't let them shoo

If your Timeless Child erasing multiverse theory comes to pass, I might just give it another chance, but the continued acknowledgement of that disgraceful bullshit as canon is an absolute deal breaker for me.

Give the show to Hayden Schlossberg and Jon Hurwitz (I don't know if they like Doctor Who, but I'm sure they'd respect the lore and legacy of the show and the character) and I'd watch it. They'd balance humour with the drama effortlessly and probably reference all sorts of stories from the past. They'd bring back classic who characters properly and give them love and respect while adding new layers to their persona and character arc. It sucks that Chibnall is writing for Ace and Tegan, because Hayden Schlossberg and Jon Hurwitz would have added a whole new dimension to those characters and probably made the events of their classic stories relevant to the plot somehow.

The build up to the 50th was pretty exciting I remember. I had just got into classic who properly and was pretty much the only thing I ever watched for months. I was obsessed back then. Even NuWho wasn't as bad during that year. I fondly remember rushing upstairs after every episode and cracking one out to Jenna Coleman lolz
In all seriousness, I'd rather go back to those times. I was still discovering the magic of classic who, I hadn't really mixed with fans and I didn't really find NuWho all that insulting. Jodie was still a long way off too. Oh, and who can forget when they discovered those missing episodes? I stayed up all night for that. It hasn't really been as magical since.

2013 was one of the worst years of my life, which made the 50th all that doubly magical seeing as it lifted my spirits, I still remember being online for the "Night of the Doctor" premiere and updating GB members as the hours ticked down to it, and the night of November 23rd attending the big screen version of "Day of the Doctor" with my brother and his friends, then heading back off afterwards to his house where I watched the trailers for Sherlock season three and Time of the Doctor straight after.
Two great months, November and December, and then a much better 2014 afterwards (minus the toothache in December '14)

For me it was the best year. I remember discovering the awesomeness of the McCoy era in April of that year. I still have fond memories of watching Remembrance and Fenric for the first time and being completely blown away by both. November was special not only because of the 50th but because I went up to London to spend the weekend with my sister. I had a great time up there I remember. 2014 was a good year for me too, just not as good. I did go to Norwich for my birthday which was great and I became a big Blake's 7 fan early on in that year. Things didn't really go wrong for me until 2016 when I became extremely depressed (which has stuck with me ever since) and also had a particularly awful second year at college. I actually dropped out near Christmas due to how awful my experience was. 2017-2020 is a bit of a blur for me to be honest. I was so close to losing my sanity and more importantly my life in 2020. The fact I wanted to kill myself still scares me. The thought wouldn't even occur to me now. Things are much better for me these days. I still suffer badly from depression and OCD, but I have a lot of support now that I've opened up about my troubles.

2013 was okay for me personally, albeit not spectacular, but I was let down by the 50th. Season 7b was pretty weak and I was very disappointed by Day. Just wasn't feeling the hype and it all felt a bit halfassed even at the time.
