Currently making my way through Return of Ultraman, which is very ironic given that even the company that own it say that this Ultraman is not the original and he’s been renamed Ultraman Jack since the 80s or 90s.
One favourite monster so far is Gokinezula, a kaiju that lives in a land fill and consumes trash, not unlike many nuwho fans.

Finished the 93 season of The Bill. Last ep is DI Haines buggering off after only having been there 5 minutes, much to Meadows' annoyance lol. 93 was, as I remembered from last time, a bit disappointing, esp in the second half, and esp in the last quarter after Burnside goes. Lots of very formulaic eps that are a bit bleh. I do remember 94 being considerably better, though, so I'm looking forward to getting stuck into that.

Kojak, season 1, ep 2. Picked this up a few years back, watched the first one but never carried on for some reason. This was pretty good, though, with Hector Elizondo guest starring as a crooked cop trying to get away with offing his wife's secret lover. I rather enjoyed this!

I've seen bits and pieces of that show. Telly Savalas is awesome.

All Of Us Are Dead. Really good Korean zombie apocalypse horror drama show set in a high school. Superbly made and acted, and characters you either really care for or boo hiss (it's got a villain in it you want to reach in and kill yourself lol). Cute girls too. How is it Korea is making stuff like this while the UK and US now seem content to churn out badly written PC BS?

Will probably start watching The Tripods again. I usually do this time of year. It's a spectacular adventure series and it still holds up very well today. I'd actually argue that it holds up significantly better than the Davison/Baker era that was airing at the same time.

Finished up the second season of the new He-Man (no, not Revelation, the other one), enjoyable but not a patch on season one. Season two cliffhanger was a blast though, as the character they used had been thoroughly unlikeable throughout the series so it made sense to turn her

I watched episode 9 of Star Trek Picard, because this season about Q and Picard fighting has to have at least one other scene of Q and Picard fighting.

Dexter New Blood, episode 1. Good start, better than most revivals already. The new locale and supporting cast gives it a fresh feel and makes it feel like everyone hasn't been standing in place for nearly a decade, but Dexter is still Dexter and having Deb now becoming the ghost of his conscience instead of his dad both makes psychological sense and adds some reassuring familiarity to proceedings. Solid so far.

Netflix dropped this trailer last week and I'm significantly more excited for the return of this show (in September) than the new Doctor. The people behind this show love the original movies and characters. They stick to the canon and add to it respectfully without diminishing the characters or the legacy of the past. Despite one shoehorned Jodie Whittaker reference in Season 2 it's been delightful escapism and a superb continuation of a series of films I loved as a teenager.

Really enjoying the new Dexter. Only 3 eps left, sadly, and I already know there isn't going to be any more. Seems a real shame, actually, this is the best revival I've seen, intelligently done and as entertaining and gripping as ever, and it seems a shame to bring it back so smartly just for the one season when the new setup could have conceivably run for a few more years. Still when new quality TV is so thin on the ground (oh I'm sorry did I just disrupt the completely absurd "we're in the golden age of TV" narrative/mantra?) I'll take one great season of a show.
