Sweet Home (Korean sci-fi horror show) and Midnight Mass (Mike Flanagan's latest) on Netflix. Both enjoyable so far.

Can't wait to see Daniel's reaction when he hears that Terry Silver is back in town! I'm so excited for this season. I'm going to binge watch the whole thing on New Year's Eve.

The Chestnut Man. Swedish mystery-thriller series on Netflix, based on a book. 3 episodes in, REALLY good so far.

Doing a Hale & Pace marathon on this wet and windy night. Quality sketches and funny stand up material. These guys were great back in the day.

Locke & Key. Entertaining enough fantasy series on Netflix. The Locke family move back to their father's old family home after he is killed in a shooting, only for the kids to stumble on a set of magical keys that seem like a lot of fun... until they realise they're linked to his murder and they've inadvertently unleashed a demonic evil. Not bad. Emilia Jones is very pretty.

Finished all 6 seasons of Primeval.
Still one of the greatest genre series of all time. To be honest I'd say that it is actually on a par with the greatest genre series of the past too.
I think enough time has passed for us to say that it holds up as well as any of the classics from previous decades. Hard to believe it was a decade since it finished!
It was just sheer escapism.
I tried to watch The Orville again to see if its first season held up and its second was as bad as I thought. To be honest in both cases my original assertion was correct LOL. There were a few crappy elements of the first series that I maybe didn't notice, and a few great episodes of the second season that I maybe didn't appreciate as much, but overall I think I was probably right.
Here's hoping McFarlane realises what was shit about the second series. Less soap opera more adventure, you're supposed to be doing a f*cking sci fi series!

I have to say out of all the Orvile episodes, the first two episodes of season 2 are I think two of the worst episodes of any television series ever made. That's not hyperbole. The gay orgy episode was basically soft core porn. I actually think that might top some of the worst episodes of the revival.
It's hard to say. The worst of the revival annoys me more because it is vandalising something good, but you know at least they actually try to fill it up with a plot. The first episode of Orville season 2 was literally NOTHING, whilst the second was basically some weird alien porn.

I gave up on it in season 2. As you say, it was getting seriously weird. Didn't help that they got rid of the best one in it after 2 episodes either...

I'll be honest aI didn't watch the first two during this rewatch until now because I didn't want it to soil the series for me. Probably why I was easier on season 2 LOL. I decided stupidly tonight "they can't be that bad." They were worse. I honestly don't know who watching weird aliens have orgies was aimed at?

Young Sheldon. I don't particularly like Big Bang Theory - and pretty much gave up on it around season 4 when they started turning it into a nerd version of Friends - so haven't seen this before, but I gave it a go and it's actually really good and really funny. Halfway thru season 1 and I'd say it's superior to the show that spawned it. The kid is hilarious, and dead-on nails it.

There's been a lot of talk about streaming vs physical media, but after a month of Netflix my opinion is that the medium most likely to die as a result of streaming is regular television networks. Physical media will always be around - people will always want to own their fave shows and movies, collecting is human nature - but 'scheduled' TV? That's the thing going to go the way of the dinosaur IMO.
