Surprising how unpopular Pisstaker and Chinballs are on GB. I thought they all loved them there Isn't Henshin/BowieDoctor an ex-GB user? I suppose it's a shame that more members from GB haven't moved over here if they feel similarly. Indeed I am.

The Telegraph did an article on what they thought would save Doctor Who. Here's what they said:
Bring back David Tennant Add sex Don't put a fanboy in charge
You have to be a member to read the whole thing so I didn't bother to link it but you can find it online easily. I'm not sure what to say about it really. Must be a joke article, surely?

They might have labelled Whittaker's Doctor as "woke" earlier (primarily to score culture war points), but don't think for a second that those twats have Doctor Who's best interests in mind.

"1) Ideally bring back David Tennant".

God almighty...
Firstly, Villanelle as the Doctor!? A psychopathic bisexual femme fatale with zero empathy!? Basically Missy in a spy series. No thanks!
Secondly, does anyone have any real evidence that the Brigadier, as stout and dependable a chap as he was, was anyone's pin up? I'm really rather glad he existed before Captain Jack made gender fluidity 'a thing'.
And finally Torchwood - at least during its two initial seasons, after which it became more of a 'specials' program, for better (Children of Earth) or worse (Miracle Day) - was arguably more consistently crap from the outset than its parent show, which is saying something. But is there really any proof children don't watch something because there isn't loads of it? My family used to love the Channel 4 series Ultraviolet and still do today, despite there being 6 episodes (and no specials). And the McCoy era of Who, which I only got into properly at the time at the start of season 25, basically consisted of 28 * 25 minute episodes across those two seasons.

In reference to the "banter", it uses the following examples:
Mickey: What is a horse doing on a spaceship?
The Doctor: Mickey, what’s pre-revolutionary France doing on a spaceship? Get a little perspective.
Lucius Caecilius Lucundus: Who are you?
The Doctor: I am… Spartacus.
Donna: And so am I.
Lucius Caecilius Lucundus: Mr and Mrs Spartacus?
The Doctor: No no no. We’re not married.
Seems like a superficial requirement, but, er, OK...
This is an odd one too:
"4. Be aware of every single precedent in the show’s entire history
Or at least the big ones. When Chibnall blew everything up in the Timeless Child he lost the hardcore with the revelation that the Doctor wasn’t really a Timelord but was adopted by one. However…
5. Don’t pander to the hardcore.
Russell T Davies said that the word canon was never uttered in the production office and he was everyone’s favourite showrunner. When things are going wrong, writers reach for the Daleks and the Cybermen. The most chilling villains, however, are new inventions. Weeping Angels, anyone?"
Hmm. If anything, I'd argue that the Timeless Children was the worst kind of pandering to the hardcore, given that the casual audience wouldn't have cared one iota about what the bloody hell was happening on screen.

Here's my formula for fixing DW.
Cancel the current version pronto.
Give it a rest of a few years.
Then either sell it to Netflix or someone who can put money into it, or bring it back as an animated series. I'm not talking about a Saturday morning cartoon, I'm talking about as an animated drama like the DC movies. Either way they can get over budget problems and actually have stories set on other worlds, other time periods etc.
Cut New Who out of canon. It's too much of a stone around its neck. Make the first Doctor of this new animated or Netflix series the 9th Doctor. Don't be overt about it. Just have the Doctor show up. Don't mention the past, but have him casually mention being on his 9th life once this version is established. Then somewhere down the line do an episode where he meets say Matt Smith's Doctor who is revealed to be from another universe. (Like they're doing with The Flash and Michael Keaton now.) That way you don't cut all of New Who out, and can now and again have crossovers, and even alternate universe version of New Who characters. (For instance maybe the Martha of this universe can run UNIT?)
Cast an older eccentric MALE character actor as the Doctor. No female Doctor, no romantic, sappy Tennant lite Doctors. If you need to have a romance to ease people in, then have it be between the young male and young female companions, but never with the Doctor.
At some point bring Romana back and cast Morgana Robinson. Set her up for her own spin off series. Also develop a spin off series about Absolam Daak, a Dalek bounty hunter. Create a shared tv universe, Doctor Who, Daak and Romana and now and again have big crossovers between all three.
Make the TARDIS cosey and ray gun gothic like the classic era. Make it bigger, give it a Library, a garden etc.
Use the Daleks and the Cybermen and the Master but write them in character! Have the Cybermen be a desperate race clinging to survival, the Daleks be a massive empire, the Master be a controlling, megalomaniac that hates the Doctor rather than his sex kitten like Missy LOL. Make them threatening. Have them win now and again. (Set more Dalek stories on other worlds, show their war with other races so we can actually see them destroy other species.)
Invent new monsters, try and add to the Doctors rogues gallery.
For the love of god don't mess around with the lore and the Time Lords. If you don't want to use the Time Lords. Just. Don't. Use. Them! Don't kill them off so that they can never be used, and don't mess with the successful formula of the Doctor being a renegade from them.
Get in a script editor and a producer so it's not just one man's vision and hire a wide variety of writers. Look for people who like sci fi and fantasy. No more sitcom writers like Moffat or guys who write dreary crime dramas like Chinballs.
Also though this goes without saying, stop pandering to SJWs and focus on telling exciting sci fi stories instead. Look to the works of Arthur C Clarke, novels like Star Maker and even old 50s and 60s comic books for inspiration. That old school sci fi about exploring the universe is what DW does best. Though I also wouldn't be opposed to some historicals, the odd invasion earth story (though definitely give them a rest after Nu Who) and the odd gothic horror.

"1) Ideally bring back David Tennant". This list has got to be the biggest pile of shite I’ve ever seen. Bring back Tennent, did he ever ducking leave? His time one the show has been the single most detrimental thing to ever happen to long running franchise I’ve ever seen. Part of the reason for nuwhos stagnation is because it cannot let go of Tennent, every other actor post his era was hamstringed into acting more like him or just being him and the show itself is stuck in the formula of his era. What it needs is truly break away from Tennent not being him back. Not a sci-if show… this one actually made my brain hurt. It’s comments like this that show how f*cking twisted the show became under RTD. I’ve said before that nuwho is generally a stupider show then the classic. This is in part because it’s being written by people who right drama not sci-fi, and thus lack the vision and intelligence to right a true work of science fiction. Banter… don’t you mean gibberish nonsense for no reason? More episodes? FFS quantity is no substitute for quality. By that logic Keys of Marinus is better then the Curse of Fenric. If your team is shite, then their work will be shit. Dont pander to hardcore fans and also be awaire of all the shows important precedents… did none proof read this idiotic list before they posted it. Only the most hardcore of fans wants the show to remain unwaveringly faithful to every small detail with no contradictions. The rest of us are happy as long as they remember the important bits that were incorporated regularly into the shows run and don’t f*ck with stuff that don’t need f*cking. For example I dont need to the Doctor to have frost covering his face every time he’s comatose like Pertwee had on a few occasions but I do want you to not take the mystery of the character, flush it down the toilet and replace it with a pile of shite. Who ever wrote this list is a total moron.

The fact that Tennant (the absolute worst Doctor pre-Pisstaker) is so longed for is depressing as fokk. The character he played was not the Doctor, and if that's they want, God help us all. The only thing I agree with is that some totty wouldn't go amiss. When was the last time we had a really hot companion? Clara? And her general obnoxiousness kind of off-set the actress' cuteness. So the last one was Amy. Who left in 2012. No wonder the ratings have tanked.

Both had a huge impression on me as I was only a teenager when they were on the show. I'll never forget Amy in that police uniform in The Eleventh Hour. Talk about a sexual awakening!

Selling it to Netflix is a bad idea. Do you really want the ignorant yanks getting their hands on it? Remember this woke BS comes from the BBC becoming corrupt due to American values that had crept in and corroded our society.
Just cancel it and keep the spin off material coming through BF etc. We will never get DW back after Rasputin's Testicular Discharge f*cked the revival up and made it for the dumbest f*ckers in society.

If not Netflix someone else who can put money behind it. Also this is where it gets into prejudice. There are plenty of brilliant American series, genre series in particular. I'd entrust Doctor Who to the makers of these series far more than most people working in British tv right now. Also I don't get this phobia of the Americans having it? I always thought John Carpenter would have done an absolutely amazing job producing the series. Watch his films The Thing and Prince of Darkness. Both are basically just 4th Doctor stories. Ironically if Leonard Nimoy had got hold of the show in the 90s and had done his version with either Tim Curry or Alan Rickman, we'd have been in a much better position than we are now with Pisstaker and an actress about to be hired for her skin colour. Also finally phoney, neo liberalism, has been an aspect of British culture for decades. Rick from the Young Ones was parodying SJW types back in the 80s. If you want to blame anyone, blame British panel show comedians, not only for bullying DW to the point where its fandom were so desperate to be liked, they let RTD take over, but also for being spineless worms in the face of this generations Ricks. Back in the day guys like Rik Mayall and Frank Zappa showed you didn't have to be a right winger like Sargon of Akkad to hate these neo liberal twats, and undermined them in the public's eyes. The death of proper satire had a knock on effect on the rest of the industry in the UK, DW included.

Netflix is just as bad, with exactly the same "Woke" policies as the BBC. I agree in general principle though - the guys behind Elementary could probably do a great job with Who, much better than the current BBC brigade. For evidence I present the fact that Elementary>Sherlock regardless of the fact that the latter is British. It's still shite.

I'm hoping though with the very obvious backlash to woke politics, since Netflix have to rely on the market more than the Beeb, that they might change their tune. Again though it doesn't have to be Netflix. Just anyone to take it out of the Beebs hands and put more money into it. I think that the British are far too precious when it comes to Doctor Who. FFS look at the yanks with their heroes. They embraced a version of Batman played by, and written and directed by British guys! In fact at one point, Batman, Superman and Spider-Man were all played by English guys. If they are okay with that why the hell are we not okay with an American producing DW. Seriously is Genki really saying he'd rather Chinballs than John Carpenter? That's what the never a yank nonsense leads too. Don't even get me started on these people who say no to an American Doctor, but yes to a female Doctor. They are idiots.

I'll be honest - I don't really like modern American television - it's not about being precious, it's just not my thing, and I simply can't get into it, especially the Sci Fi/Fantasy stuff. But I like modern British TV Fantasy even less, so fokk it, let the Americans have a go, they can hardly do any worse than Davies, Moffat or Chibnall, can they? I recently read that J. Michael Straczynski wants a shot at producing Who and while I was never a Babylon 5 fan, I really wouldn't mind that (as unlikely as it seems). I'd prefer someone who likes and understands Science Fiction to produce Doctor Who - and not to turn it into a soap opera or a fairy tale ( "For me, Doctor Who literally is a fairy tale. It's not really science fiction. It's not set in space, it's set under your bed." - Steven Moffat).
