Ncuti is an awful actor. His line delivery in the Vortex scene is absolutely abysmal and he's just not very likeable. I guess because he cries a lot he's somehow a powerful actor. I f*cking hate the "he's got a lot of energy" bullshit. An autistic toddler high on E-numbers has a lot of energy. Some random bloke raving at the local club has a lot of energy. It doesn't mean jack shit. High five Emperor! If energetic performances were all that mattered, lets just watch Billy Smart's Circus instead
The same people use the energetic defence for Gatwa and all of Nupoo come to that, have laughed in peoples face for defending Colin Baker's performance the exact same way.

We know who the problem is. C***s who will defend any old shit providing it agrees with their retarded politics.

The Doctor calling Sutekh "Sutes" annoys me more than it should. Is he going to call Davros "Davs"?

It's what I've always said, identity politics is beloved by the elites and the truly corrupt as it allows them to cover up their own twisted morality and appear to have the moral high ground. Only problem is people are so tribal, lot's of young leftists are duped and think they are actually on their side, whilst others who are in the middle think these elites are actually leftists and turn to the right in response. Hence people calling RTD of all f*cking people a Marxist or equating things like the death of Star Wars, obnoxious pride parades, or even cancel culture with Marxism. It's deep depressing and does just make you want to flee to Mars.

If we were to list every TV finale that was better than Empire of Death we'd be here all week.

Just been reading a ranking of all new-Who series (seasons?) on a popular website that does lists. The latest effort from RTD comes in 9th out of 14 - with most of the lovely JW's taking up 10 to 14, alongside S2 (which I can't really disagree with, but I know what should have been in the "worst" spot...) Anyway, within the "reasoning" for this decision, was the following quote: "Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson are two of the most talented actors we’ve had in the TARDIS." Really? Really?? To be fair, the rest of the write-up does give many of the episodes the kicking they rightfully deserve, alongside being scathing of the pathetic mystery-box BS. that RTD tried to trot out, yet again. But "two of the most talented actors"? He can cry. Tremendous. However, I'm not even sure he didn't have a bit of onion to-hand every time the script demanded it. There is not a shred of the Doctor in that man's performance. Consider this... "Do I have the right? Simply touch one wire against the other and that's it. The Daleks cease to exist. Hundreds of millions of people, thousands of generations can live without fear, in peace, and never even know the word Dalek..." ...but with added "huns", a couple of "babes", a pause midway to dance in a skirt and then a shed load of tears? Doesn't really land, does it? As for Empire of Death...? Well, let's just say I wish the tech in "Eternal Sunshine..." was real, because I know what I'd like to be erased. ETA. PS. While peripherally aware of the whole Sadako thing, am happy to confirm that I am neither that person, nor have I ever sock-puppet-ed anything, apart from when I was young and made an actual sock-puppet

Wasn't Pisstaker the bestest evah a few years ago?
Can't take any of these clowns seriously anymore. They're just shills, paid parrots with no thoughts of their own.

Oh,at the time she would have been carried shoulder high through the streets by anyone who felt acting, historical consistency and audience engagement was less important than ticking a box. Amusingly, I like to picture that crowd of Jodie carriers starting off very large, only to thin down to one or two loud shouting morons who are too weak to sustain the weight of her... Because that is pretty much what happened in reality....

If it's Sutekh, we'll no doubt have to suffer through Fathead D Kruger bleating on about the supposed ills of "cultural appropriation" in the aftershow. We got that in the actual episode. He couldn't even be bothered to wait until it had finished.

I hate Empire of Death. Not only does it suck, but it also makes the first part (which I rated at the time) completely irrelevant. All those tense scenes in the time window mean absolutely nothing. All the Susan baiting was all a bunch of bullshit too. We were promised the most epic finale and all we got was the Doctor chilling in a cramped TARDIS set watching clips of a far superior story before taking Sutekh for a nice walk through the time vortex. None of the original RTD finales are as contemptible as this.
