It appears Ncuti will be absent for another episode next series, with Ruby getting another story highlighting her. This will be one of 'fleeting apperances' for her character, it appears it'll be this and then the series two finale where her family will be completyl explored and wrapped up. www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/bbc-doctor-whos-millie-gibson-33091032

The memes are far more entertaining than the episode. The only good thing about the retcon.

Sales have come in for how well it did at the cinema.
Now don't worry here I am NOT going to do a Terror on the Praire and compare it to Hollywood blockbusters that have full box office runs. However when compared to Day of the Doctor that similarly ran for one night in cinemas it's not looking good.
£364,253 for this.
Day of the Doctor took 1.8 million in its single night.
Now to be fair Day was the 50th, but even then tickets for Day where 12 pounds as opposed to 25 for this. That means Day took in 6 times the numbers this did with half the price.
Whilst I wouldn't have expected the show to maintain 50th levels of popularity consistently, I think we can see that the interest has dwindled in pretty much every respect now. I would be surprised at this stage if there was a series 3.

14,500 people still isn't bad for a limited release

How come Last of the Time Lords, which was made in 2007 and without the extra Disney money, looks more vast and expensive than Empire of Death? I can't believe how cheap it felt after the motorbike escape.

Honestly looking back on it this was a pretty intense cliff hanger, but ultimately it's only that because of all the hard work Robert Holmes did in making Sutekh the ultimate evil monster in Pyramids. If Pyramids didn't exist would this evoke quite the same sense of terror? Also if Sutekh comes back again will he evoke the same sense of terror when you know the Doctor has to just take him for a walk?

I had no reaction to this at all. Maybe I would have if Sutekh spoke quietly and calmly in a scene with no incidental music

Rescore with all the strange, strange creatures. Doesn't quite work as it's too loud and too upbeat, but I do appreciate the person adding in the cloister bell and just doing the video as it is always interesting hearing a rescore.

I watched it again several times before Empire of Death aired. Now it has lot all of its meaning after Empire. One of the highlights of Disney Who for me has now been ruined.

Not the greatest example given that was all a dream! I'm shore RTD remembers that fact about as well as anything from the classic era these days.

Not the greatest example given that was all a dream! Bah. I knew someone would pick up on that… Then again, you never know! We aren’t ever told how much the Dream Lord *knows* in that episode…

Sutekh during every mystery from Pyramids to Power of the Doctor: "na, can't be arsed"
Sutekh when he discovers the mystery of Ruby's birth: "shit, I gotta know!"
