History has a way of repeating itself. The Chibnall era was very like the Colin era, RTD2 is looking to be more early McCoy / season 24

the Capaldi era was the Colin era (with Davison as Matt, Tom as Tennant and Pertwee as the more serious Eccleston). Whittaker was light and bubbly, she was early 7. And Tennant-2 was McCoy.
Now we're in the Wilderness years.

I really don't see any correlation between Chinballs bollocks and Colin. And I'd rather watch 24 on a loop than sit throuh 5 mins of this shit.

I really don't see any correlation between Chinballs bollocks and Colin. They're both curly and unemployed..? Other than that, i'm completely stumped...

Will you people just stop watching this shit already. Sage psychological advice. I get by by pirating it and seeing it as something to laugh at and take the piss out of. For me, it's less a case of "I despise this and it gets under my skin" and more "Davies is making a massive tit out of himself to millions of people and it's piss-funny", because I don't associate it with the proper series at all. I'll drop off and stop watching it before time, as with the Chibnall era where I actively missed a huge chunk of it. But you're right. As stated before (by myself and others), I've got a televisual masochistic streak. Still, as UncleDeadly once put it, the reportage is usually more edifying than the disaster... That, and the reportage gives the forum extra traffic. That's my take on it too. Like I said on another thread the other day, there's a lot of fun to be had in taking the piss and just laughing at how shit it is, and getting it from Pirate Bay makes sure it doesn't contribute to the viewing figures. I'm long past the point of being able to take it seriously. That happened for me with Dark Water/Death in Heaven, so in all honesty I can't even blame Jodie/Chibnall or Ncuti/Davies for that. Much as I would like to blame RTD2 especially, it was actually Moffat that killed it altogether for me. An actor like Capaldi was a godsend, and Moffat just deliberately destroyed what should've been a great opportunity. Davies/Moffat/Chibnall: collective c*ntery like you'd never have thought was achievable back in 2004.

There's a twist at the end! There's a twist at the end! There's a twist at the end! There's a twist at the end! There's a twist at the end! There's a twist at the end! There's a twist at the end! There's a twist at the end! There's a twist at the ennnnnnnd! Followed by No twist There was an actual twist at the end, Harbinger is still out there and that will probably lead to the next God showing up

Didn't watch it and by the sounds of things I'm glad I didn't.

Apparently it did not chart anywhere on the released Disney+ ratings for the 11th at all.

If Space Babies drops from a 6.2 to a 6.1 on IMDB it will officially become the worst rated episode written by RTD on the site. He's out done himself It’s now at 6.1/10. Just below Love and Monsters. Give it several more hours, and it’ll comprehensively fall below the episode in which Ingrid Pitt attempts to perform Kung Fu on the Myrka.

That was absolutely awful. Some of it (if not most) of Space Babies was cringeworthy and some of it had me in fits of laughter it was so bad. I could say the same for The Devil’s Chord. The latter was like a cringeworthy musical at the end and I always dreaded Dr Who becoming one. Davies is trying his best to turn Dr Who into a shameful piss take of a show that was once great and he is succeeding. On a positive note though at least it was hilarious for the wrong reasons.

Exactly proves my hunch. There's no organic growth, there is no new audience, there are no new fans. The only people watching are f*cks like us

Thought it would be interesting to get a critical view of Space Babies from a typical Nu Who influencer who usually promotes the series quite positively....he didn't like this one.
I agree with a lot of what he DID like about it,, and it's what kept me from switching it off. I think you could make a pretty decent mini-sode out of all the expositionary scenes.

Jesus Christ look at the overnights. When you couple this with the fact that it didn't chart on Disney Plus, really the show is dead. I reckon its next series will just be quietly buried in the summer slot like Primeval's was in 2012, after its fourth season flopped. Another hiatus can't come soon enough for DW. We just need to ensure that the next version has NOTHING to do with anyone from the Fitzroy Crowd. Imagine what its viewers will be by the end of the series run? This is already the lowest the show's ever sunk. I feel a bit bad for Bonnie Langford to be honest. Much like George Clooney coming back for the Flash, she spent decades being known for being in a crap version, then finally comes back thinking she'll get a second chance only for it to be another turkey.
