Everything I've seen of Gatwa so far has been absolutely dreadful. His delivery is cringey, wooden, overdone, and entirely lacking in gravitas. I'd say he was miscast, but the character he's portraying was never even intended to be the Doctor. He's clearly nothing but an RTD sexual fantasy insert, though something tells me the fandom in-crowd who bitched endlessly about Moffat doing the same with his female characters will have f*ck all to say about it. The constant "honey", "love", "babes" bullshit is already getting old.

What does everyone think of Millie's performance so far? Nothing special, but to be fair we haven't really seen her yet and nothing actively stood out to me as being poorly acted I'm just totally unenthused. I was more hyped up for Jodie Whittaker than for this. This might turn out to be alright, but it's not Doctor Who, not my Doctor Who. |

I remember a lot of people saying they thought Jenna Coleman was sleeping with Moffat, simply because Clara was being made the front and centre too much. Again Clara has NOTHING on Donna as far as that is concerned, second, Moffat never did a publicity shot where Jenna was dressed in revealing clothes, whilst he rested his head on her shoulder and she was sensually stroking his cheek and turning to face him whilst he was grinning. Moffat also didn't make jokes about chasing the young female nurse in the old folks home and encourage his lead actress to get her tits out regularly either. The idea that RTD could complain that he's been a victim of homophobia from the fandom (as he so frequently did to his critics) is hilarious. His feet wouldn't have touched the ground if he'd been straight. |
