This Tennant/Tate return still feels desperate by RTD. A bit like Spinal Tap putting out the SOS for the guitarist to come back! Good news tho! I'm just watching an old episode of Minder and the Brigadier has just appeared (and Grandad from Only Fools And Horses). A more enjoyable way to spend an evening, rather than listening to Davies telling us how he knows more about gender than us... Not forgetting a bent Prince Reynart and distinctly tame Rorvik!

I liked the faithful design of the Wrarth Warriors and the Meep, but thought it shame that RTD dispensed with the escape by double-decker bus and the Doctor building the fizgig and the classic line, "Mrs Higgins...there are Aliens at the bottom of your garden", however it was nice to see Pat Mills finally get his name in the tv series and I liked the reference to the Mills/Wagner foundary too. Presuming the lead-nicker's "My good woman, I'm about to explode!" line fell by the wayside too,

Watched Friday nights episode of Ultraman Blazar instead. Not the best episode but had this wonderful moment in it.

Was it just me, but have Catherine Tates tits grown a size or two since she was last in the series? Her tits looked massive in this. Yes, they were generally commented upon as being inordinately larger than usual when she turned up pissed to read out the UK results when the business end of the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest was reaches.

Was there any continuity continuation from the Lulworth Cove scene or was it all swept under the carpet sitting atop Chibnail's head?

Liberation of the Daleks is an excellent story and would have made a much better 60th celebration than this turd fest.

I hear it's been released as a graphic novel. Might pick that one up for Christmas!

Oh sorry I just saw Rushy you were talking about Liberation of the Daleks LOL I thought you meant the novelisation of the turd fest tonight. Definitely pick up Liberation of the Daleks. It actually had a great lead female character, unlike either Rose or Donna who came over as well see the above.

Again I'm sure Russell T Davies, the genius with a copy of heat magazine in his desk will think he owned the sexists, but I just see a man who can't write women. Who is incapable of seeing them as people who can be in adventures as normal characters, but has to mention their gender all the time, and make out "women are better at everything than men, they are just so, so, so, so, so, so wonderful in every way." Again like Brian in Family Guy who can't just see his black girlfriend as a woman and has to go on about how much he loves black people every two mins, about how he wants to rename the school Martin Luther King school, and send all black people away to a farm so they can be safe from white people etc.

It would have made more sense to make this the first TV special. Not only would it tie in with their colourisation of "The Daleks", but opening with the most iconic monsters is surely more impactful than Beep the Meep (as much as I adore the little fella). I guarantee that the views/ratings would be way higher if casuals knew Tennant was gonna battle the Daleks

Reminds me a lot of Prisoner of the Daleks, another Tennant Dalek adventure that is way better than it has any right to be (mostly because Baxendale basically wanted it to be the fourth Pertwee Dalek serial)

Let's face it, he's a hack. And at this point, a tired, woefully out of touch hack to boot.
