I've read some more about this. It does sound like it exists solely for NuWho fans to experience the story in a way that resembles the more modern look and format they're accustomed to from the new series.

It won’t have Tennant in it, so how invested will they really be? (The fact that I’m seriously asking this question is a telling indictment…)

Presumably David Bradley's been brought on board as a voice-artist so the Doctor can yell "Allons-y..!!!" during the Thal attack on the Dalek city....

Rubbish. As a Generation Z student myself, I never had any problem with watching monochrome cinema and TV. Quite the contrary: I watched The War Games multiple times as a 10 year old. As executive producers, these people have no understanding that “children” can’t be categorised into one monolithic block. In doing so, they assume that children are stupid and need material cut down for them. Patronising twats. He's probably talking about his "mentor" (according to the Damaged Goods book) Paul Marquess. Best known as the guy who utterly destroyed The Bill. Same level of "talent" precisely.

If this theme isn't in the upcoming colour version we riot. It'll be Murray Gold playing his farty comedy music I expect. In fact thinking about it, isn't no Murray Gold about the only plus point to the Jodie era?

If this theme isn't in the upcoming colour version we riot. If they ditch Funeral Chords, then you can storm them... (As brilliant is the City music is, Funeral Chords is one of the single most evoking pieces of music in the classic series. The sheer hopelessness of it is harrowing and somewhat distressing in a unlistenable manner yet utterly compelling and masterfully crafted). They'll probably get a full blown choir to do the sad bits. That's what I hate about Murray's music in general. You can't have a funny moment without some rubbish-sounding comedy music in the background. Same with an emotional moment. It essentially tells you that you should be laughing or crying at that point.

It doesn't even sound sad at all, just dissonant and haunting. The only sadness in it is how pathetically it fades away and dies and becomes nothing. I don't recall which scene it was used for but I can definitely see it fitting the Daleks' demise. Really in those final moments they are very pathetic, like their whole existence is pointless. And if you, like me, subscribe to the idea that The Daleks is the last story to take place in the chronological history of the Daleks, it becomes even more appropriate. Primitive synthesizer music is so interesting; at this point I think they must have been using independent oscillator modules routed through various effects chains, as the VCS3 didn't come out until 1969, and of course lots of tape editing.

Daleks footage 6:02.
He thinks that showing black and white footage to a child is akin to showing them "a stone tablet."

I think I posted it in the wrong thread by mistake? Still either way if that is the music they are using for the Daleks I'll be pissed off.

He's one of the best composers of the original series. I'm not sure why he went along with this.

This clip strongly suggests that absolutely none of Tristram Cary’s music will be used at all. Adding new music in scenes which otherwise lacked it is one thing (if not necessary), but there’s absolutely nothing left of Cary’s score in this clip. It’s been replaced by uninspired bombast. Bombast can work when used inventively, but it’s placid and uninspired here, and doesn’t suit a story like this at all. The Daleks is not a “blockbuster”. It’s appropriately eerie, deliberate and sinister. This choice feels incredibly incongruent and bizarre, but it does correspond with his belief that Doctor Who needs to be “loud”, regardless of context or intent.

Only good thing I'll say about that interview is the girl interviewing Russell is really cute, and surprisingly she seems to have more respect for the original, describing the black and white as really scary.
It's quite funny he's making out that nobody can watch black and white any more and she a young person mentions how she finds it scarier!
Also is it true that the Strictly woman will be in it, or is that just a joke? It's sad that I can't tell any more. To be clear I have nothing against her personally, but oh dear god how shallow is Russell just nabbing everyone from any reality or day time show he can. He truly is the supposed intellectual with a copy of heat magazine in his desk.

I suspect Ballas will have one of those brief "show yer face" roles akin to Barbara Windsor, Sir Patrick Moore and the various newsreaders reporting on alien invasions.

I think we can all recall the unintentional hilarity of the DVD upcoming release trailers....
