I'm actually interested in seeing it in colour. I don't like the idea of a new score though as the Daleks has one of the best soundtracks of any DW story. In fact I'm even using it in my Dalek adventure. The music when the monsters first enter is perfect.
Still given its 60s ray gun gothic aesthetic there is a lot that could be done with a colour version, like Star Trek or any Irwin Allen series.

I'm very happy to see it colourised. But a new score/sound design sounds like pure bastardisation to me.

A nearly three hour story cut down to barely an hour and 15. For f*ck's sake. I like the idea of colourisation but to cut the thing down by over 50% and change the music... why not just remake the entire thing with f*cking Tennant and Tate. You know they want to.

I hope not. I don't mind Briggs Dalek voices to be clear, but enough is enough. Also I love the old 60s sound effects anyway. The sound of the monsters roaring in the swamp gives me real Harryhausen vibes. It suits the time more than a modern stock monster roar like the Raptors in Jurassic Park.

We could always take the colourised footage and overdub it with the original sound
Also I would say that I'd love to see the rest of the 60s colourised, but since this one story (not even complete) took 12 months, I highly doubt that will happen

Apparently it is not REALLY a new score, but the original music rearranged by Ayres to suit the new cut. That is less shit. That being said, if you didn't cut the thing in half - more than! - you wouldn't need to do that...

Apparently it features new scenes too...
Is it possible this is a secret Tale of the TARDIS and includes Carol Anne Ford interacting with either William Russel or Bradley?

I wish we were clear that recreating classic scenes is a no-no. Mission to the Unknown was an exception because it was only 1 episode and didn't feature any recurring cast members. We've all seen the scenes they recreated of the Tenth Planet part 4 with David Bradley and it was pretty f*cking awful. Please don't let this be true.

These people are just intent on smearing themselves all over a program they had nothing to do with.

I've never understood why they need to butcher old things just so it can appeal to modern audiences.

I wouldn't care if it was just colourised but f*ck off with the changes. That's a classic story and I will never watch it cut to pieces
