And that bloke doesn't even like the modern stuff anymore.

Very interested to watch this as I've long thought remastered colour versions of the old sixties stories might indeed be a worthwhile project.
I do love this very first Dalek adventure although to be honest I'd have preferred The Chase to be tackled instead - that's a story maybe more suited to receive scrubbing up treatment, not just adding colour but also enhancing with new special effects (disappointingly absent on the Collection blu ray release). Anyway, we've already got colour versions of the first two Dalek adventures via the old Peter Cushing movies.
I'm a little worried too that those in charge at the BBC are unable to resist smearing too much of their modern shite all over this old classic - fingers crossed they don't...

This looks awful. It really does. Colourising it really highlighted how bare bones the sets are, so they've had to over do the colours to justify it, which just looks even more ridiculous. As our man BillPatJonTom said we already have a colourised version, the Peter Cushing movie and it's Dalek city suits being in colour because it was big and majestic. The tv one however is supposed to be creepy, understated and dead, so adding in all of these bright colours just jars terribly. |

Why is it so oversaturated? It looks like a cheap VHS rip you'd see on a web archive from like, 2005.
Just seen the other pictures and by God is it gaudy. There's no way the sets were that sickeningly colourful at the time, and the TARDIS floor definitely wasn't blue.

It looks like total shit. Hardly surprising when you've got people with a "I WANT TO DO IT MY WAY!" mentality in charge of it. You shouldn't pick and choose. You should make it as faithful as possible.
