Even r/DoctorWho are tearing it apart...sheesh When even the socially conscious citizens who object to the unmutual are tearing it apart it is f*cked.

I have been editing for well over a decade, I've also followed Whoflix/Grumpy Old Fans's editing work for years and I have seen existing cut downs of this serial, ones that do try and keep modern audiences in mind, it's all much more manageable than this.
I feel a little overwhelmed by the brightness of colour, the music overbearing, the ridiculous comedy music they tried to give otherwise serious scenes, the weird callbacks to scenes we'd just seen, this was Daleks for Tik-Tok, and most of those kids would rather cut it down to five minutes if they could help it.
I tried looking out for the new scenes, other than Kaled being mentioned I didn't notice much else that made transitions between scenes any fresher, and I thought Briggs was being left out of this one and they got back David Graham?

Ugh, that was Neil Patrick Harris' voice at the end of the trailer. Will they be filming a new version of The Celestial Toymaker with him?

Ok, as a one-off but the intrusive music quickly got on my nerves. I've no wish to watch old stories re-imagined in the style of NuWho. Leave the past alone.

The fact that they worked on this for over a year is hilarious. They may have worked for a day, but I think they spent the rest of the year playing snap or strip poker in the editing room. Hopefully Barrowman wasn't rowed in to shuffle his pack.

In the subtitles it says "Dalek forefathers," but even to my ear it sounds like "Kaled forefathers." Strange.

0.35 million watched this on BBC4 apparently.
A raging success and no mistake (giggles).

I doubt crap ratings will stop him in his mission to remould the whole bloody Classic Series in his own warty image. I reckon either Dalek Invasion of Earth or Tomb of the Cybermen will be the ones he has his sights on completely buggering up next.

I thought the editing was all over the place and there was too much colour in it and the bits with the re-recorded music was too bombastic and out of place at times but other than that it was enjoyable watching a classic William Harrell episode and the Daleks.
