Sadly we can add Xena fandom to that list. At least its reddit page. 

It's a damn shame as I liked it over there at first, but yeah just had a very nasty run in. I basically just suggested Gina Carano for the role of Xena if they ever remade it. Stupid of me, but I thought since that was three years ago it might have died down among normal people? Even the guardian did an article supporting her. I also didn't bring ANYTHING even remotely political into my post about her. Sadly they ALL launched into the usual she is a disgusting monster, she should never work again, she is a pathetic loser, she undermined the horrors of the holocaust and she is transphobic etc. Some even tried to undermine her accomplishments and went on about how she was too old, fat and ugly to be Xena.  

Any post I tried to make actually arguing what she said and explaining how she was stitched up, how she wasn't even remotely transphobic, how she wasn't even right wing, I got thumbed down. (I also got told I'm not a real fan, that I should f*ck off to a Trump rally, that I'm a bigoted loser etc, though I'm not trying to play the victim as I admit I got so pissed off at their tirbalism and since I'm not in the best mood, I started calling them sheep very quickly LOL, and it wasn't as personal as New Who, but still it's easy to see how it could become that.)

The whole thing was really quite peculiar. They WANTED to hate Gina. I can understand if it was just a misunderstanding. I don't judge them for jumping the gun, we've all done it. Like I said for a while I thought Jameela Jamil was just an arsehole, as she was another one that got shat on all the time from the other side of the culture war. However when I actually saw what she had to say I realised she wasn't that bad, and now I think she is a kind hearted, thoughtful, reflective individual (and a great actress too.)

However with these people even before I lost the rag, I'd quote what Gina actually said, run through her history of supporting LGBT people, explain why she wasn't this or that, and they'd just thumb that down so nobody could see it and then continue calling her a right wing lunatic. Why did they want to think that badly of her?

Also going on about her looks made me laugh. These people who are fans of a show about female empowerment going on about how she is too fat and ugly to play the part. Here is the exact quote I copy and pasted.

She also has weird filler face that makes her look much older, like a Real Housewife or something. That pic you posted was over 10 years old, she no longer looks anything like that. Do you guys remember when we had a guy who was parodying the alt righters on Nu Hive? He simply called himself c*nt, and was a right wing Be Kind, and in a post about Jodie Whittaker he went on about how he didn't think she was attractive because her nose was too bulbous, her lips weren't the right distance from her chin, her eyes were too thin etc. All the neurotic shit about from these types about why they don't find certain women attractive. Sadly this post is EXACTLY like that. True horseshoe effect in motion. 

It also reminds me of some nasty posts that I've seen about that actress who played Juliet in the new Romeo and Juliet production with Tom Holland on the Critical Drinkers fan page. All comments about how she is too ugly to play the role, that I called out for that nasty bullying it was. Again though it's so funny to see that from both sides. 

All I can say is this. Yak, babe, and was it Rushy too who said never let fans do things? You were both right. Yes there are some good fan producers out there, like Bruce Timm, John Semper Jr, but honestly they're good in spite of that. Also I might add when they do write things as fans that's when they are at their worst. IE Bruce Timm forcing Batman and Batgirl together because he was thinking like a fan who shipped them, Semper JR giving the Hobgoblin an unspectacular end because he hated him, Sam Raimi who did a good job on the first two films, letting his fanboy prejudices mess up Venom a character that fitted him perfectly etc. 

Ultimately fans are idiots who want to reshape things to suit their own needs, have stupid prejudices against existing characters, will form into little cliques and let their politics get in the way. Thanks to their influence Gina Carano, this woman here.

One other thing I'd like to say is that the person who made those remarks about Gina's looks was a woman. Now I don't know what this woman looks like, and I won't speculate, but honestly sometimes women can be the most vicious against other women in fandoms. People love to make out that it's always bad misogynistic virgin men that shame women for how they look, but actually no.

I remember rolling my eyes at Lily Allen's URL Badman video that made out it was all men. The worst, most unhinged, psychotically abusive person towards her friend Amy Winehouse was a woman who set up a facebook page calling her ugly, and when she died the page said.

"Hahaha bitch is dead LOOOOOOOOOOL" and continued to go on about how she would finally look presentable as a corpse and would smell better as now they'd cover up the smell. Really disgusting stuff. This woman was also a model I believe and gloated about how gorgeous she was. (Personally I didn't think she was, but that might be because her personality was so utterly repulsive I could barely see her as a human, hell I could barely see her as a mammal.)

Again this is not to say that women are worse to other women, than men are to other men. Again men often bully men in closed environments to a far worse extent. All boys schools are heinous places for that very reason.

Still it's something for people to remember again whenever they push this sisterhood shit or alternatively "got your back jack bitches be crazy."

I actually take back what I said about Xena fandom. I mean those people were absolute f*cking c*nts, but I think that is a Reddit issue, NOT a Xena one. Xena fans on all other sites like Twitter, Whoosh, facebook, and just around have actually often been lovely (and been supportive of Gina Carano. Lucy Lawless herself was.) 

However like I said before Reddit has a psychotic level of hatred towards her. I mean it really is Katie Waissel levels of bile and hatred.

Here are some gems I've saved over the last few months from other forums beside the Xena one. I obviously never went back there again after the blow up, but on other reddit forums like the DC comics one if you said you thought she'd be a good Wonder Woman, or if you dared to defend Gina when someone launched into a rant saying she deserved to be fired, or spreading lies about her, hell even if you DIDN'T bring her up, if some creep went through your history and brought it up on an unrelated forum etc.

This phenotype physically repulses me. It reminds me a lot of masculine looking Italian /Southern European looking women and to some extent Arabs (Teresa Guidice is another one). She is the complete opposite of someone beautiful like Monica Belluci.

There is some truth to the internet getting overly excited any time there's a socially acceptable time to be mad at a woman, but this is a pretty bad example of that. Put this energy into supporting someone like Amber Heard or Yoko Ono instead if you're really mad about hate mobs from double standards against women.

These people actually think Amber Heard's abuse of Johnny Deep is less serious than Beep, Boop, Bop? I mean I get it that some people think Johnny Deep might not have been as innocent as he claimed. I don't know all the details of that case hence why I didn't do posts about it, but from what I have read Depp and Heard seems to me like a case of the classic rockstar couple who both kicked the shit out of each other and mentally abused each other, like Amy and Blake, or Sid and Nancy or Ozzy and Sharon rather than say Keith Moon and his wife where it was one way. Only difference with Johnny and Amber and those other examples is that both sides of the culture war seized on this one. 

Still being caught up in something like that is a lot more controversial a thing I would have thought than Beep, Boop, Bop?

I do hope that I never looked that bad towards Jodie Whittaker? Be honest here as I am always regretting stupid, boring posts I've made in the past, was I ever as horrible to Jodie as these c*nts were to Gina? I really, really hope not and if so f*ck do I regret it. 

I never made fun of her looks I know that, as that is a sore spot for me, but I hope the relentless negativity didn't come over as this from me. At least I gave her credit for being an excellent singer. 

Still at the very least yeah this shows you that Reddit is the problem, hence why I'd avoid it like the plague. It is the single worst forum I've ever been on.

I couldn't escape it, that's the point. Even on another forum where I didn't talk about her then they'd bring it up. Hell they'd follow me to this forum and sent PMs to Sophie Aldred telling her not to work with me because I supported Gina Carano, in fact one of them said they wanted Sophie to denounce me! Lucky that didn't go anywhere because I'm unknown but suppose I had built up an audience then that could have developed traction and f*cked me. Why you think that is okay I don't know? Meanwhile these are not just people who complained about her either. These are the same forums that petitioned to get her fired which was successful and have made her unemployable and continue to spread toxic lies that make her name mud. 

Meanwhile I don't think it's fair to compare her to RTD or the treatment he gets here in the slightest. 

To start with RTD is a big shot in the industry who has an entire empire at his disposal. If he were in a vulnerable position and it was punching down then okay, but he is the head honcho who has actually been able to ruin people's careers like Eccelston. He's the aggressor, not the blacklisted victim. 

Second I have never spread lies about RTD in my life, nor have I formed petitions to get him fired FFS. If you'll read this forum before just disagreeing with me for the sake of it like you always do, you'll see I called out Graham Linehan for his revolting remarks calling RTD a groomer. In fact I called out Philip Morris, despite him earlier supporting my work and giving it a boost for doing a picture of RTD done up as Jimmy Savile and called him certifiable. 

Meanwhile plenty of people here STILL give RTD credit for things he's done well ffs. I'm currently having a rewatch of his first era. 

RTD is also taking over something someone else did for the SECOND time. He is monopolizing it for himself (he bought the rights and therefore even if it tanks future producers will have to go through him, and before that it was just passed around his mates for 20 f*cking years) and he is going out of his way to insult its legacy and its fandom. These aren't random comments he made about DW twenty years ago. He said them to justify rewriting and putting a stain on the original like "if you like Davros' original design, you are supporting abelism." He and his friends have also started to rewrite the past. Now you can't even retreat to the past, as any DW book will have to rewrite Delgado into Pertwee's squeeze, the Doctor has to be called THEY and just making a proper version of DW is seen as a right wing act as you are taking it away from LGBT people. 

RTD also gets heat for his hypocrisy. He claims to be super woke, yet makes toxic and abusive comments about the disabled both in the show itself and in real life frequently, hires guys like NPH, Anne Widdicombe, Tracy Ann Cyberman, films in Dubai, goes out of his way to make fun of fat people. Look at the Abzorbaloff? That's ripping on a guy who it is trendy to bully in fandom entirely for his looks, in a show he loves more than anything? He also let severe bullying go on under his watch, and encouraged his leading man John Barrowman to get his cock out, rest it on women's shoulders, he actually did youtube videos joking about it and included it in The Parting of Ways and then threw John to the dogs as a sacrifical lamb to save his own skin in the early 2020s. 

All of this is whilst he and his other friends support other people being blacklisted like Gareth Roberts. (He has also used his position to strip people of work in the past like Eccelston who had to go to America to recover.) 

Meanwhile whilst I personally don't call RTD fathead, even if I did that is a reference to his ego (that's an expression big head, fat head etc) and a reference to an alias he used to write a script years ago. I have never made comments on his looks. 

Meanwhile I have also called out people I'm not particularly fond of being made fun of for their looks like Frosk or the Romeo and Juliet actress etc. 

Again if you'd wanted a gotcha moment, then Jodie would have been a better option as she is just an actress, and as I said in the post I was a bit worried that I'd come down too hard on her in the past and was asking if I'd done that, but even then I've never told someone I'm going to email actresses they've worked with and tell them not to work with her because they said they liked Jodie.

I will say I've always hated Disney to be honest. They always struck me as parasitic bastards trying to hoover up other people's creations and buy the rights to them, and I always hated the Disney Princess angle. I thought it was infantilizing and a little bit creepy to be honest. The best animated movies were often made outside their influence anyway like Shrek and the Batman movies and Land Before Time. (Indeed a lot of these like LBT were made by people who were f*cking pissed at Disney. Lord Farquaad for instance was based on the head of Disney at that time LOL.) 

I hate to say though this is a joke. It did the rounds a few months back on social media. Clearly people who hadn't watched it and just wanted to stick it to Disney started repeating what was in this video as fact. Ironically it was similar to the Gina Carano situation in a way. Glance at a tweet or a headline and don't look into it because it suits you etc. I saw lots of people saying Disney was a racist who hated kids and there are old forgotten interviews where he jokes about killing Mexicans etc, but when you watch the video that started it, it's clearly a joke. Still f*cking hilarious though. 



I will admit the only reason you might be duped into thinking it's real is that picture of Skinless Jim was f*cked up. I can only assume that was photoshopped, but you never know. Clowns were at one point thought of as a cute, funny thing for kids and they are f*cking horrifying. Still whilst the company he began became worse than this, it's important to debunk this kind of fake news.

Honestly Reddit truly is the home of scumbags. 

Look at this post from someone on reddit boasting about banning people on facebook and social media for being conservative, that gets near universal support. You might think "oh what's the big deal banning someone on social media" but actually it is a huge deal for some people. Lot's of lonely people's entire social group exists on social media, even more so in a post COVID world. To have that ripped from them can lead to serious mental health problems. 

This smug preening c*nt doesn't care about that. Ironically Gina Carano's post absolutely summed people like this shit head up. Basically people LOVE being bullies. I don't know why but it's a human trait. Thankfully most of us have a sense of decency that cancels that out. Sadly however let people know that "it's okay to bully this person" and they'll unleash all of their hidden desires to be a bully on them. It reminds me of that bit in Alan Partridge when his workers are being horrible to his PA Lynn and Alan says "yeah and it's okay to join in." 

That's why the X-Factor was so popular. It was basically saying to people "it's okay to bully these idiots who think they are great singers." 

Meanwhile in the modern culture wars people like this c*nt and it would seem redditors in general if they see someone who doesn't share ALL of their views then in their mind it's okay to unleash their hidden bully on them. "Yeah and it's okay to join in" sadly sums up so many people.
