It looks like Ian is confirmed for that online DW spin off. The one that had alien penises in jars. With this in mind I think that he will most likely be in Jodie's last episode. Meanwhile Maxil will be delighted to hear, that Bonnie Langford is also rumoured to be in the last Jodie episode.
Remember DW is all about change.
