...and this is the same guy who hit the headlines for kicking up a fuss behind the scenes of Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate Events because he apparently thought the writers were crossing a line by asking him to speak a few lines in a mock Indian accent.
Seriously I know some people will think I'm just an over sensitive Amy Winehouse fan, but this is the type of shit she got all the time, and I think objectively, the abuse Amy got is a great way to examine the hypocrisy of a lot of these SJW morons.
You see SJWs as we have explored time and time again, are phoneys. They are Rick's, who only spout the most shallow, bastardised form of left wing politics because it is trendy and makes them look good. They haven't got a political bone in their bodies.
They are trend chasers by nature. Now with this in mind, back in the late 00s it was trendy to show how edgy you were by being nasty to people. I blame South Park for this in all honesty. South Park's humour can get nasty and pathetic like their jokes against Barbara Streisand, but they do at least go after targets other people are not willing to go after, so I wouldn't call them trend chasers or cowards. Still yeah that became the trend, and as Amy was the medias punching bag, and thanks to actual misogyny and bigotry over mental health, morons thought she was fair game. Then she was a favourite for these trend chasers to go after, and as they wanted to out do all of the other trend chasers, they'd be utterly vile to her in the most insanely over the top ways.
Flash forward to the 2010s however when it's now the trend to show how politically aware you are and white knight for trans people and all of Amy's most vicious critics are now woke feminists.
Eminem, who did a video of people puking at how ugly she was, when she was at her lowest, now a feminist doing songs with such genius lyrics as HAAAAAATE Trump. Eat your heart out John Lennon and you thought working class hero was a great political song.
Frankie Boyle, made vile remarks about Amy and other FEMALE punching bags of the media like Jordan, now hosts a feminist chat show.
Katy Brand, did sketches where Amy threw herself at men who wanted to kill themselves rather than kiss her, now white knights about how famous women are judged for their looks.
Edinburgh Fringe festival, awarded a comedian who made a joke about Amy cutting herself, the best joke award, for that very joke. Now does mental health awareness events.
Young Turks, did videos mocking her alopecia and calling her a freak from the jungle, now white knight about feminist and fat shaming.
Jimmy Carr, did a long sketch about how her tits were sagging, and how any man who wanted to shag her would have to strap something over his dick to avoid getting diseases from her minge. Called Peter Davison a sexist for not wanting a female Doctor. (How'd that work out for you Jimmy?) PS we can also include Richard Ayoyade in this in that whilst he was never vile about Amy, he cut Laurence Fox a good friend of his for 20 years out of his life because of Fox's remarks on Question Time, yet he happily does shows with Jimmy Carr and Frankie Boyle.
Sacha Baron Cohen, called her fat and made fun of her anorexia and said Pink looked like an ugly man, now virtue signals about how much he hates Trump.
I'm sure there are others, but you get the idea. These people are not ideological, and I must admit I can understand why people get angry when the pushback against these cretins is just framed as just a left vs right issue.
It isn't. It's poseurs who will jump on any bandwagon, principles be damned, and it just so happens that a shallow form of left wing politics is the bandwagon now. I predict though if there ever is a backash, the above people will go back to bullying anorexics to show how edgy they are.
There are obviously other examples you can use to show what trend chasers they are. Like Chibnall filling Torchwood full of rape fantasies of various kinds, because it was trendy back then to make sci fi shows sleazy and sexy, and then becoming
the woke feminist turd. Obviously Amy's abuse is one close to my heart, but it's a good one to fall back on nonetheless.
Another thing to say about trend chasers is that they always ruin any genuine criticism or point they attach themselves too. For instance you can and should have made jokes about Amy as everyone is fair game and she was a huge celebrity. I have no issue with my other faves being joked about. The Dead Ringers impression of Paloma Faith is f*cking hysterical. However they ended up being so vicious in a pathetic attempt to try and outdo each other that they turned it into widespread bullying. As a result any joke about her, even if it was tame or fair, seemed like it was part of that for a while.
Similarly there are discussions to have about representation, how women are portrayed in the industry etc, but these cretins have made it reach a point where as soon as representation is brought up, people just roll their eyes.
