I like Epideme the most from 7. It's gallows humour very much appeals to me. The only one that is really bad is Beyond a Joke. The P&P stuff is good, but the second half is really lousy. Don Henderson was way cooler in Bannermen. I actually enjoy Blue a lot. Am I the only one that loves Chloë Annett as Kochanski?

As I have sais before, it is the most watchable and least offensive of all the seemingly endless reboots/revivals we've had. It helps we still have a singular vision and from one of the original writers who involves himself in all facets of production. Something other reboots/revival lack

Looking back, out of all the Dave ones I think Series 10 was the best. There are a couple of episodes with little to no guest characters and take place entirely on the ship. It reminded me a lot of the early days where they used to piss about for most of it. Dear Dave and Fathers & Sons are the strongest of the bunch.

Apparently a TV show about the two valet drivers who steal Cameron's car and go for a joyride in Ferris Bueller is in the works. It's being penned by the writers of Cobra Kai and considering everything those guys touch turn to gold you can expect this one to be a winner. It probably won't last very long though considering the whole thing lasts half a day.

Please tell me you're joking. I'm not. I reckon it will be a good laugh myself.

Episode 11 of Ultraman Leo
The episodes Alien kills a man who tries to help the heroes catch it. Said Alien then turns up at the local cemetery in the second half, at the same time the man’s wife and nephew are at his grave. As the heroes try to apprehend it, the alien runs right up to the grieving widow and punches her in the face, killing her instantly.
What a prick.

And episode 13 as opened with an alien framing the protagonists by using his knife to stab a police officer. Not of screen, no we get to watch as the blade flys through the air and into his stomach while his partner watches.

Started on Manhunt last night, a 1970 ITV British drama series about a resistance group in Occupied France. Very Secret Army. It's pretty good so far though. One thing I love about these shows - and that helps to get through the time barrier - is the presence of so many familiar actors. Even though two of the main stars listed on the box - Robert Hardy and Philip Madoc - weren't even in episode 1, you've still got loads of familiar faces like Peter Barkworth, David Burke, Alfred Lynch, Peter Copley, Yootha Joyce (didn't even recognise her at first but for her voice) and the ghosthunter from the Sapphire and Steel train station one. Off to a good start!

Ultraman Leo - Episode 40
Well... that got dark quick...
Ultraman Leo has been noticeably darker then the prior series Taro, but it's had a bit of an up tick for the last few episodes... little did I know that that was just to lull the audience into a false sense of security.
Ok so while this series monster fighting team MAC are celebrating one of their members birth days, a new antagonist, Black Directive, has sent the first of his Saucer Beasts to attack earth. This jellyfish like monster, called Silverbloome, attacks MAC's space station and KILLS EVERYONE!!!
Silverbloome envelops the station and begins melting it with acid. It's tentacles smash windows and eat through walls. The few staff that make it to the space ship are then promptly DEVOURED by Silverbloome as they try to escape. Dan (the human form of Ultraseven) tells Leo to save himself, then presumably dies. After Leo is able to throw of Silverbloome, please note that he doesn't save anyone from the station so we can only presume that everyone has died in some horrific fashion, the Saucer Beast heads to earth and begins attacking Japan, killing Leo's best friend, love intreast and adopted Daughter, suggesting they were all melted by acid or crushed by rubble, probably both! We then see Leo and his adopted son wonder around the destruction looking for their loved ones, only to find their names on a board of the confirmed dead.
f*cking hell.
Silverbloome then later attacks a school, melting a teacher with it's acid, then growing back to it's giant size and laying waste to the school. As Leo fights of the monster, we get a truly lovely scene of children with acid burns being rescued.
What a cheery f*cking episode this was!

I watched the extended version of "Duct Soup" presented on the Red Dwarf Blu ray set on Friday. I actually like this episode anyway and there's some great additional scenes which remind me very much of the dialogue-heavy scenes in "Marooned." Bit strange without the laugh track, though. I'm looking forward to seeing the extended remastered version of Tikka to Ride this week.

I binge watched Series 11 and 12 of Red Dwarf today. I saw The Promised Land when it aired so I've now watched every single episode of the show. Though "Skipper" was the only outstanding episode of the DAVE era, I did find a lot to enjoy about the others. The four actors are so watchable and the humour is very much the same as it has always been. I just find watching the show so comforting. The glory days are gone, but the most important thing is the show is still watchable and charming. You know I've started a Red Dwarf rewatch today. Now that I've finished B7 I want to go to another bleak British sci fi show. (As far as I'm concerned Red Dwarf, Classic Who and Blake's 7 take place in the same universe. DW and B7 are linked via Kaldor City, and there's a TARDIS in Red Dwarf as a background prop so that's enough for me haha. New Who obviously isn't part of that canon.) It's funny hilarious it still is after all these years. I personally loved the revival meanwhile. I not only think it was great and faithful, but actually fixed the ending of the original run. Sadly series 8 was utter crap as far as I'm concerned and would have been a really poor end to the saga. This series fixed that. I LOVED Promised Land, not just because it was a great film, but because it also finally showed us what happened to the Cat people. I've wanted to know that since I was like 5, and Rimmer finally got a happy ending. Right now I'm on series 1 where Rimmer is jealous that Lister is the god of the cat people and I love thinking that one day Rimmer will be. I just hope one day they have them meet real aliens who are called Quagaars.

I do think Series 1-6 is the golden period of the show, but 8 and to a less extent 7 are still quite fun. Series 10 is probably the best "Dave" era series. Not a single dud in that.
