Seem to have fallen into this rather persistent habit lately over the holidays. I didn't much mind it around Christmas Eve/Day as it made me feel like a kid again getting up that early, but it just kept going on after that. Fortunately I developed a pattern of popping into the kitchen to take medication, go to the toilet, then hop back in bed and successfully turn over.

I usually have to go to the little boys room once in the night. It bothers me. I'm so cosy and warm in bed that I don't want to go to the loo. It takes too much effort to get up and walk down the hall. It's better not to hold it in though. I'm jealous of people that have a bathroom connected to their bedroom.

Personally, i'd like to have my nob connected to the toilet. Then it can get on with what it needs to do without getting me out of bed. Honestly, what with lifting up the duvet covers, throwing up and peeing it's worse than the bloody cat...!

I'm having trouble sleeping, myself.
In an effort to reverse my Christmas kilos, I am abstaining from the following for this month:
- Bread - Pizza and focaccia - Cookies/biscuits - Chocolate - Burgers, pies, hotdogs and fries - Ice cream - Nearly all sugar (fruit excepted, along with some mostly unavoidable ones like hidden sugars in juice, or milk in sugarless tea and coffee) - Shakes and smoothies - Yoghurt
I started on 2 January 2022, and already feeling great (but it's been a challenge).
But, since the diet? Struggling to fall asleep like I used to! While I do get a full night's sleep, I have gone from falling asleep within 30 minutes of getting into bed to now waiting up to 2 hours for sleep to arrive.

I still eat some of that stuff as long as I'm exercising regularly. I'm limiting my portions and not snacking as much as I used to. I usually allow myself a cheat day which is always on a Saturday. I'll have one packet of fruit jellies, some Pepsi and a small chocolate bar. For the rest of the week I stick to healthy stuff.

If weight loss is your goal, seriously give it a try for just one week.
It will be a challenge on Day 2, you'll have your moments on Day 3.
But, come Day 4, you'll feel the subtle benefits and would have developed the inner incentive to endure the remaining week.

I don't really sleep till 1am. I really need to sort my sleeping habits out in the New Year. I wake up about 8am and feel absolutely shot.

I got a decent amount of sleep this morning. I might start going to bed around 11pm now rather than buggering around on the internet until I get tired.

No goodies for me in January and that includes Pepsi unfortunately. I'll still drink coffee only because I'm a complete wreck without it. I'm going to workout at least three hours a week, take cold showers everyday and limit my calorie intake. I'm just fed up with feeling naff all the time. I need to look after my mental health as well as my physical health. As for sleeping, I often listen to rain sounds so I drift off faster.
