Yes. Lowest opening ratings for New Who. Hilariously bad to non-existent ratings in the US. A major success, according to the shills. Ninth most watched show of the week. Impressive

War of the Sontarans currently has an 8 on IMDB which is the first time that an episode has scored an 8 or higher since Capaldi left. It also means that Colin Baker is now the only Doctor (not counting McGann and the TV Movie) not to have an episode that's above a 7.9. It's all bollocks anyway. Am I really meant to believe that the latest episode is better than all three parts of Ghost Light? Dodgy website. It was a terrific episode, improving on episode 1. I'm surprised Revelation doesn't get over 8 but the rest of six is largely mediocre at best.

It's not spin if that's where it actually ranked.

Didn't watch it, but someone on facebook said that for the main villain, Chinballs literally bought a halloween mask and painted it slightly darker. This is the halloween mask. I have to say I believe the story as it does look exactly the same. I refuse to be surprised. It's made even funnier give that this middle-class c*nt was was taking the piss out of the classic era for being cheap and silly, yet he's show can't fork up enough money for an original mask.

That really ought to be shocking news. The fact that it isn't speaks volumes. I can't help but think that the Chibnall run is one long protracted apology; he appears to be actively trying to make Pip 'n' Jane look like Isaac Asimov.
Speaking of Asimov, there's a reason Roddenberry worked with him. THIS IS IT.

Combing through the new magazine, episode three is said to only make sense as an episode if it's part of a serial, and that it's inspired greatly by the novel/movie 'Cloud Atlas', which I've never read nor seen. I know the Wachowski sisters made it and it's one of their post-Matrix flops though, so...erm...yay?
Also, Chibs says his finale will take more 'risks'.

I hate to say I am tempted to watch the next one because that concept honestly sounds sub b-movie level. At least Pip and Jane never just bought a halloween mask to use as a monster LOL. They also managed to create a new and engaging female character in the form of the Rani, who was both strong and feminine. Imagine that. Chibnall clearly thinks this will be a high concept story. “It’s very ambitious, and it credits the audience with sophistication and intelligence. Which is something we always do, of course, but with this, it’s very much asking you to trust the show and go on a ride. Not everything is given to you in the moment. As with a lot of television now, it credits the audience with a degree of patience–that they’re not going to know quite what’s going on.”

Yes, but Isaac Asimov, George Orwell, Arthur C. Clarke and H.G Wells obviously aren't as good as Chris Chibnall or the remainder of the production team. They didn't incorporate enough gags about Northerners and mortgages, because that's precisely what science fiction needs. It's obvious that Chris Boucher wasted his time when taking inspiration from Asimov's "I, Robot" amidst writing Robots of Death, because all the story needed was a series of gags about Ed Sheeran in order to become a pertinent Doctor Who classic.

About time they returned. I mean, they've been absent from the series for, what, three or four stories?
