LMAO. If ever there was a laughing emoji needed for this site, then surely this is it. I actually did speak to Ian a few days ago and we got on fine. It was more just telling him he can be vindicated now LOL. So I won't rip on him too much, but this is one of the most hilariously random and insane things I've seen posted. Seems very unlikely to me. Can't see anyone being hired for a series that has NOT been commissioned, and has no showrunner.

Well this is the modern BBC, illogical business plans are kind of their bread and butter these day. Maybe it's part of some ill-conceived plan to trick certain groups into thinking the show is still going. That way their media accounts will have some peace befor the shite hits the fan. |

Bad news RTD is returning to produce the anniversary story.
I don't have the hatred of RTD that a lot of people here have LOL. I quite enjoy his work and think he has a place in the history of British sci fi, (though I agree his version was NOT a proper continuation of the classic show.)
Still I'm sad because this means that New Who will continue on indefinitely now. With RTD we'll just get more commercially successful stuff that isn't like True Who, making it certain that there will be nothing resembling the classic era again. Just when we were on the cusp of getting the show back after Chinballs failure. It also means the Timeless Children will be canon from now on, as RTD will probably win round the likes of Bowlestrek and Nerdrotic.
Honestly why can't this f*cker just die!!!!!!!! (New Who to be clear, not RTD LOL.) I mean honestly. How f*cking low does it have to go before it gets cancelled? I reckon this shit stain of a show will outlast f*cking humanity. At this stage it feels more like a curse on the earth than a tv series.

I imagine Sally Wainwright will probably take over when RTD steps down, since they're pals and Sally is far too busy with Disney+ and other commitments at the moment, and will need time to prepare her vision If Lydia West becomes The Doctor, or if Olly Alexander takes over and Lydia's the companion, all the better. It's A Sin was a TV triumph and probably had the best Dalek story in years...all 60 seconds of it. |
