Has anyone here had their COVID Jab and which one did you recieve?
I'm still awaiting mine and beginning to get a bit impatient for it, especially as I imagine I'll be back to work soon with everyone coughing and sneezing their COVID mutations all over me.

Not yet. My folks haven't had theirs yet and I imagine they'll be in the queue a long way in front of the likes of me.

Well I had my COVID jab yesterday and I feel pretty crap and achy today.
I'm not sure if that's because I walked close on 3 miles yesterday or side effects of the jab though.

Is that the one they're now saying might cause blood clots and pulmonary embolisms?
I'm positively rushing to have mine...

37 cases out of 17 million AstraZeneca vaccinations administered in the UK/EU, according to what it said on the news here last night. That's a tiny percentage. You're probably going to get that with anything. It is odd though how these are all to do with the AstraZeneca vaccine and not the Pfizer one, apparently.

The US haven't put the EU's nose out of joint with Brexit, have they? 37 adverse vaccine cases Vs over 126,000 dead from COVID. It's a bit of a no-brainer, isn't it?

Precisely. Although I'm not sure why any US figures weren't mentioned.
Here is Aus, the vaccines are only being rolled out in the last few weeks, but as a healthcare worker I'm eligible as from next Monday. I'm just waiting for my confirmation of employment letter to come through from my employers, and then I can book my jab(s).

What I was driving at is AZ is a UK based vaccine and Pfizer US, and the EU are currently going to jump on ANY discretion, no matter how miniscule with anything UK related. I bet if we were still part of the EU, they wouldn't be taking such a tough stance on AZ.

Hard pass for me as i'm not opting in, but I wish good health and minimal (preferably zero) complications for those of you who do accept the jab.

Ahahahah.
It's actually nothing to do with the blood clots nor the alleged microchips.
Instead, for me, I just fail to see the incentive as:
- I don't feel threatened AT ALL by COVID as i've never caught it, nor has anyone I know
- Our State leader has said that even with a vaccine, we will still be wearing masks, socially distancing in addition to his emergency powers being extended until December (enabling more lock downs)
- The CDC and W.H.O have gone on record stating that it is unclear as to whether the vaccine actually prevents transmission
- We are STILL expected to get tested, which is odd as a person who receives the vaccine would surely test positive?
- For now, there's nothing in my day-to-day life requiring me to show proof of having had the jab
I am in absolutely no hurry.
But, I totally respect all of your decisions to take the jab since, for all I know, you could have had loved ones who died from COVID and have a totally different perspective on the flu.

But, I totally respect all of your decisions to take the jab since, for all I know, you could have had loved ones who died from COVID and have a totally different perspective on the flu. Someone who has had the jab would test positive in an antibody test, but not in a Covid test as the vaccine doesn't actually give you Covid. Most of the vaccines work around a tiny amount of the spike protein, not the full virus particle. I know a lot of vaccinated people who have since had negative tests. I think a lot of people will naturally have different thoughts about having the vaccine, especially if they live in places where it's not particularly prevalent. I completely understand that. If you're not likely to get it anyway why take any extra risks. I live in a dense area of the UK where it's been absolutely raging in the past and could easily do so again, so it's a different perspective. Whether it prevents transmission or not will be confirmed in time, it does seem to certainly be bringing down rates in the UK compared to our European neighbours who haven't yet vaccinated in similar numbers. Only time will tell if that's due to other factors though. I lost one of my best friends to Covid just before Christmas, but I think the possibility of Long-Covid complications worried me most from the outset. Someone I know who caught it right at the beginning took 10 months to be able to walk any distance again, and still isn't quite right. (She's about 60 but teaches dance so is otherwise very fit) 2 other ladies in their 30's were hospitalised, people who you'd expect to be ok with it. Thankfully they've since recovered. It's not a virus that I've seen the like of in my lifetime.
