I wonder what the world will be like after the Lockdown is over. If people will have gotten used to the social distancing so much, and be so panicy about everything that we might get similar lockdowns and restrictions about less serious threats than COVID, or if it will go the opposite way and we will enter an age like ironically, the roaring 20s, of everyone descending into hedonism. Either way it will never be the same.

Either way it will never be the same. I think the latter is more likely than the former myself. I think we're possibly going to emerge from possibly the Nation's largest mutual wankathon into possibly the Nation's largest and most swinging shaggathon. The next pandemic will quite possibly be a proliferation of STD's

Ahahahah. It's actually nothing to do with the blood clots nor the alleged microchips. Instead, for me, I just fail to see the incentive as: - I don't feel threatened AT ALL by COVID as i've never caught it, nor has anyone I know - Our State leader has said that even with a vaccine, we will still be wearing masks, socially distancing in addition to his emergency powers being extended until December (enabling more lock downs) - The CDC and W.H.O have gone on record stating that it is unclear as to whether the vaccine actually prevents transmission - We are STILL expected to get tested, which is odd as a person who receives the vaccine would surely test positive? - For now, there's nothing in my day-to-day life requiring me to show proof of having had the jab I am in absolutely no hurry. But, I totally respect all of your decisions to take the jab since, for all I know, you could have had loved ones who died from COVID and have a totally different perspective on the flu. I lost one of my best friends to Covid just before Christmas, but I think the possibility of Long-Covid complications worried me most from the outset. Someone I know who caught it right at the beginning took 10 months to be able to walk any distance again, and still isn't quite right. (She's about 60 but teaches dance so is otherwise very fit) 2 other ladies in their 30's were hospitalised, people who you'd expect to be ok with it. Thankfully they've since recovered. It's not a virus that I've seen the like of in my lifetime. Thank you for your civil and heartfelt response. This is precisely why i'd never lecture someone on why I (strictly on a personal level) taking the vaccine this early is premature. There are clearly parts of the world which are taking harder hits and, as you've explained yourself, have seen loved one lose their lives to this virus. (especially yourself as, I understand, vaccine passports are being ushered in for the UK). Of course, if asked, I will provide an opinion but I would always be mindful of everyone's life experience. But, given what is coming out lately (even Australia, at the moment, is hesitant in its offering of the AZ jab), I just hope there are minimal complications for you and, if you do have the chance to wait, consider waiting as I think some of the numbers of some complications are currently being contested.

Too late to wait, had mine ages ago. 😁 I actually signed up for initial trials but the testing centre was too far away so just had to wait like everyone else. As I say, I think the risk/reward varies massively from place to place, due to age, population density, health & other things. Some people are very accusational towards people who don't want it, but if you're at an age where the vaccine risk is equal to the Covid risk then that's understandable. As we get older the scales tip the other way. Also, I guess we also have a different perspective as over half of adults here have now been vaccinated already, and we can see more experiences for ourselves rather than hypothetical. We (& a couple of other countries) get to be guinea pigs for the world. I'd say more people I know have had it than not, now. The AZ one does seem to come with serious fatigue for a lot of people, for up to a couple of weeks (mostly just the first few days), I didn't get that though thankfully, just a sore arm. Reports say about 1 in 3. I also think being female gives a slightly different perspective on the current suggested complications. Blood clots? What DOESN'T come with complications of blood clots for women? Most oral contraceptives (for example) have a much higher risk & we all just go 'oh well'. A lot of our other hormonal treatments are the same. It's a minefield just getting through life. 😢 This is unrelated to vaccine conversations, but one thing I do worry about more these days is how many more people are suffering from DVT due to lockdown. In my work day I used to get up to talk to people, go to the printer etc regularly throughout the day. Now I'm working at home I spend most of my time in an unsuitable chair, just getting up for an occasional coffee. I do leg exercises just in case, but I wonder how many others do. I haven't heard anything mentioned but it'd be interesting to know if diagnoses have risen in the last year.

The AZ one is now not going to be given to the under50s here in Aus, so that lets me out thankfully.

Has anyone here had their COVID Jab and which one did you recieve? I'm still awaiting mine and beginning to get a bit impatient for it, especially as I imagine I'll be back to work soon with everyone coughing and sneezing their COVID mutations all over me. Just had mine tonight. Astra Zeneca.

Us poor f*ckers in Japan won't be getting ours until August at the earliest. They only just started giving jabs to the elderly this month, and are in short supply. Not enough needles they say. What the f*ck were they doing all this time?
