The whole idea behind the stickied thread was so moments like this wouldn't clutter up the main public board as they have done on previous iterations of the Hive/Redux where the whole f*cking board was taken up with "I'm leaving!" and "Come back! Come back!" drama queen threads.

As I say, I wouldn't be at all surprised if one of these newer accounts or zero post accounts is Yak anyway...

In all honesty his political views sadly were typical in geek culture these days. That idea that the Nazis were leftists is accepted almost universally as hard fact. The guy I do the livestreams with always repeat it. Of course I try and correct them, but they never listen. They think I'm a commie at times I think.

You just have to accept that sadly a lot of people have bought into the propaganda. Few ideologies have been as demonised as communism and socialism in the west. They are despised by both sides, the neo liberals and the right wingers, and given most young people fall into one of those two extremes with no leeway (thanks to the media and culture war pimps on both sides like Sargon of Akkad, Owen Jones, Paul Joseph Watson etc.) Then that's the attitude we have to put up with.

I'm not saying I'm not like that because I'm super smart or anything LOL. I have bought into propaganda from both sides too, but socialism is one area where while I'm not exactly an expert I DID come from a left wing family and so I know at least some basic information about it, and about things like the black book of communism being a literal piece of Nazi propaganda.

Still Yak's views were fairly typical and I liked him as a person beyond that. I also think you can get through to someone like Yak too. Again he's not a Sargon with a dog in the fight.
