I wish he'd just used the block facility, as I have done. Dare I ask who you’ve blocked? I'll tell you privately, otherwise someone might feel compelled to announce they're leaving. And then keep announcing it, and then not leave.

In all honesty his political views sadly were typical in geek culture these days. That idea that the Nazis were leftists is accepted almost universally as hard fact. The guy I do the livestreams with always repeat it. Of course I try and correct them, but they never listen. They think I'm a commie at times I think. I think you mean in "dumbed down mainstream news culture" Burrunjor. Not all geeks are so politically illiterate or dumb. Horseshoe theory has become such fascist apologia holocaust revisionist bullshit promoted by Centrist wankers. You'd never get such nonsense promoted by ClassicWho writers or 2000AD writers for example. I agree and Classic Who writers were mature enough to work with people with different view points, hence why a communist, a wishy washy libera and a die hard conservative made the Jon Pertwee era. (Also Douglas Camfield was a far righter too. Someone I think it was Frazer Hines joked that he ran his sets like a fascist dictator which was why his stories were so good LOL.) Meanwhile sadly Rob you have a bit of an outdated view on geek culture. Classic Who writers and even the heyday of 2000 AD is a long time ago. Sadly these days 90 percent of geek culture, and certainly the most prominent figures are made up either of mad, neo liberals who think Chris Chibnall is ground breaking, or fans who because they hate the SJWs, go completely down the right wing rabbit hole and think Chibnall is a Marxist, Lenninist and listen to guys like Sargon. Just the other day I got into a disagreement with a friend of mine who went on about how Disney are following the playbook of Karl Marx. I mean f*cking Disney! Meanwhile I think the horseshoe effect is useful when it comes to looking at how the culture wars is fought. Again the culture wars is just petty tribalism, hiding behind shallow forms of left and even right wing politics. Think Chibnall or any of these conservative writers are as well educated on politics as Malcolm Hulke or Terrance Dicks? They've just chosen sides based on petty dislikes and annoyances or being genuinely misled and so both sides do end up using the same tactics as each other. Looking at the way the fandom menace targets Rachel Zegler it's exactly the same way the SJWs ruined Gina Carano. For the record I can't stand Zegler, but still it's ridiculous. They aren't judging her as an actress, making out everything she was in is the biggest flop, declaring her the worst actress who ever lived, and best of all are calling her hideously ugly. I mean Jesus Christ in what universe is that woman ugly? Again though it's the same shit from a different side.

Ah, you mean "moron culture" then, not geek culture. 2000AD is still going, it maybe past it's populist hey-day in the 80's, but still regularly grooms UK talent for export to the US market and film/tv industry thanks to the sterling efforts of Rebellion. A Rogue Trooper film is coming out next year for example. Chibnall is neither a Marxist or Leninist, he is a mainstream fuelled identitarian moron. Perhaps we have different definitions of "geek culture"? For me it personally means "niche" and outside of the mainstream, not a load of US imported trash or Marvel/DC/Disney codswallop which IS very much populist and mainstream.

I just liked his posts on Dr Who and tv/film/music in general. I could've taken great exception to some of his political comments if I wanted to, what's the point? I'm 40 years older than him and have had a completely different set of life experiences. He has to work things out for himself. I just thought that he was a good contributor, generally speaking.

Yes I do mean the mainstream faux geek culture. The type that began with those annoying hipster fans in the early 2010s that has degraded into this. Certainly NOT fans of niche, underground comics like 2000 AD.

RobFilth I think you accidentally made this board private when you disabled guest posting after last week's incident. Yak won't be able to see this.

RobFilth I think you accidentally made this board private when you disabled guest posting after last week's incident. Yak won't be able to see this. You're right, thanks for pointing that out to me Clockwork. After browser swapping a few times, I think I've now corrected that and it's now on public display and access but not for guest posting.
