I also watched Can of Worms (aka Polymorph III). This episode very distinctly reminds me of that time Grant Naylor ditched the Lister pregnancy episode for being too unfunny... Cat's description of giving the Polymorph a blowjob was not something I ever needed to hear... Doug clearly wanted to challenge Rob's iconic 'Cat has sex with a barbed penis' scene from Backwards lmao Polymorph 3 was my biggest disappointment. It's not a bad episode per say. The chick playing the Cat lady is hilarious the way she does the "this is mine, this is mine, all this is mine." Schtick from before perfectly. Still I sooooo wish they had done the Identity Within instead. Seriously why didn't they just make that episode (preferably with Ingrid Oliver as the Cat Lady that the Cat gets with at the end. She's friends with Danny John Jules in real life and is closer to his age, so she should be his love interest. Apparently she said he had some bad stories to tell about Norman Lovett LOL. I wasn't surprised as based on the commentaries Danny and Norman really didn't seem to get along.) Identity Within would have been a fantastic episode and could easily work in the Dave era, in fact it would work even more now that we know there are Cat people out there. I loved Promised Land by the way. I've always wanted to see more of the Cat People and it was awesome seeing Rimmer become their god. Remember in series 1 when he was jealous going on about "I could have been god if given the lucky showbiz break." Well now he is haha. "Rimmsy Rimmsy, Rimmsy, Rimmsy." Identity Within would make an excellent sequel to it.

I reviewed Me2. I'm very excited about the upcoming batch of episodes, I remember everything being pretty golden from here to Parallel Universe.

I reviewed Me2. I'm very excited about the upcoming batch of episodes, I remember everything being pretty golden from here to Parallel Universe. Me2 honestly has had me howling at times just thinking about it. Rimmer's argument with himself is some of Chris Barrie's best acting. From how vile and loathsome the other Rimmer is to how pathetic our Rimmer is "I'm a grown man and I'm not going to take you saying anything bad about my mommy." "MR GAAAAAZPAAAAAAACHOOOOOOOOOO". Also when he calls the other Rimmer a distended rectum LMAO. That one definitely helped flesh Rimmer out and make him quite a pathetic character. To be honest though I found Rimmer sympathetic in two previous episodes of series 1. He was right in Confidence and Paranoia and whilst he was an absolute arse, he was right in the one where he didn't want Lister to get Kochanski's disc. Think about it what Lister wanted was obscene. He was going to bring a woman back for one night, only give her life for one night and then switch her off, basically kill her again. Also yes as if he would have switched Kochanski the woman he loves off, if things were going well to bring back a guy he hates. Also finally Holly agreed with Rimmer that bringing Kochanski back would be bad for Lister. Rimmer was right to be scared and to view it as amoral, and to view it as being worse for Lister in my opinion. Other than the black card stuff he was the unintentional hero of that episode LOL.

The black card thing culminated so beautifully with Craig's slimy "You never leaaaaaaaaarn, do you?"

The black card thing culminated so beautifully with Craig's slimy "You never leaaaaaaaaarn, do you?" The best line in that was Rimmer impersonating Kochanski and saying "I'm having a woman's period" LOL. That's become the perfect meme to describe badly written female characters by male writers including yes, both Steven Moffat and RTD. In fact ironically it's often male feminist writers that give women that kind of dialogue. This reeks of "having a woman's period" in that your reaction is just Listers "women don't talk that way!" Same applies for minorities too LOL. Well maybe they do in their insular, hollywood bubble, but in the real world? Not so much.

The thing that stood out to me was Rimmer going "It's Kochanski's voice, it's Kochanski's bod-ay, I mean what's the difference, come oooon!"
The dude was really willing to go on a full-blown romantic date with Lister

The thing that stood out to me was Rimmer going "It's Kochanski's voice, it's Kochanski's bod-ay, I mean what's the difference, come oooon!" The dude was really willing to go on a full-blown romantic date with Lister Lister/Rimmer shippers definitely have a lot to work with. I mean I don't think that is what the writers were intending obviously. Most of the time the dynamic plays out as squabbling brothers in the bunk scenes, or outright enemies in other stories like Meltdown and Bodyswap. Also even if the writers did intend it to be a romance in one episode, given the lack of continuity, it wouldn't matter overall LOL. Still consider the following. Like you say Rimmer is willing to go on a date with Lister whilst dressed up as Kochanski. Okay it was just out of cowardice, but still. Then there is low Rimmer who is created from a part of Rimmer's psyche, and wants to have his way with Lister. Then there is Listers homoerotic dream about Rimmer. Then we have spin off material where Ace Rimmer shags and has a kid with the attractive female Lister who was played by the Brig's female replacement from series 2. Also the female Rimmer seems rather attracted to Lister calling him her little cupcake, whilst Rimmer is attracted to the female Lister describing her as the cute one with the juicy jugs I believe. I mean really come on here. This isn't like the mad Pertwee/Delgado shippers who tried to make out a sword fight to the death was like gay porn (seriously) or who claimed the tremas Master was dry humping Tremas. There definitely is something in there. I think both are straight so it can never be romantic, but deep down both view the other as their perfect partner, or the perfect partner they can get in this environment which is why they still sleep in the same quarters. Occasionally it may lead to odd feelings for both, but yeah as they are both straight, never anything more. Rimmer's dream women is a female Lister, as he is so self loathing deep down and NEVER plays well with other Rimmers, he would need someone who was the opposite to him. However unlike with Lister he wouldn't mind it if this slob was a tomboyishly beautiful laddette rather than a gross blokish idiot that plays pranks on him. Hence why he had a crush on Deb Lister and the Lisa Yates memories were great for him and Yvonne McGruger his only girlfriend was a badass boxer and therefore may fit into that category of a beautiful laddette as well. Lister meanwhile ironically doesn't seem to like Laddettes as he broke it off with Lisa Yates who sounded awesome, didn't like Deb (and she didn't like him, with the two only sleeping together after getting drunk.) Meanwhile his dream girl was the pompous, sophisticated, urbane Kochanski. Not saying he'd love a female Rimmer, LOL, but again I can see Lister seeing a female Rimmer with self esteem issues as someone he could rescue and make feel better about herself and enjoy being her bit of rough. If only one of them was a woman.

The first one was okay, but this sounds awful and like it even makes the first one a waste of time so I think I'll pass...
