I hate to say it Russell, but when I went to school kids pretended to shoot each other in the playground. It was a game called Cops & Robbers. We all knew it was a game. I've never thought the sonic looked anything like a gun. He's literally the only person I've seen point this out. Oh come on, Maxil. With a background like that, you must have murdered a few people by now... Surely Davies himself is the one responsible for the sonic's "gun-like" redesign and it being brandished as a weapon..? The original sonic never even remotely resembled one. This is high comedy at this point. Children can tell the difference between reality and fantasy. If Davies can't then that would explain why his notion of science fiction is so mundane and shot through with conformist politics. And now he's brazenly spouting the sort of reactionary crap that creatively hobbled Doctor Who in 1977. At this point i'm just waiting for him to come out and finally admit that his political stance is just slightly to the right of Laurence Fox... I'm not even sure it's that complex. At this point I'm fairly sure he's just a bona fide moron.

Ditto cowboys and Indians. 😁 Or WW2 games, where I was always the German because when I was a kid I thought they were the underdogs because they always lost in all the films. 😂

I think he knows how dumb it sounds. We're in the era of negative press (think how much attention Last Jedi got). He's just saying stupid shit for attention, and to get the hater Youtube channels working overtime to promote the show for him.

If he didn't spend his time, energy and synapses constantly seeking attention, he could be putting his mind to making a half-decent series instead. That ought to warrant enough attention.

That would require talent, not ego. He hasn't got any of the former, way too much of the latter.

Is it true that Davies is doing a musical episode? I suppose this rules out Return of the Gunfighters then? I’d say that The Gunfighters is looking bloody brilliant at this stage…

There are some awful American accents though And in The Tenth Planet. I'll never like The Gunfighters, but at least it's not wilfully distasteful. I told you new who has ruined people's ability to judge bad DW. In the 90s you could tell that substandard scripts like The Gunfighters were well substandard LOL Anything terrible in the old series now however looks like gold compared to the worst of New Who, as you think "well at least farting doesn't save the day, at least they have plots and the villain doesn't dance to the Spice Girls.." To be honest RTD and the geek websites that praise him have almost ruined the ability to judge sci fi shows in general, not just DW as now you think "well at least this show didn't have farts saving the day" and you think "what you guys got angry at this show doing a stupid thing and praised New Who?" The Flash season 9 as I went over in another thread was a really poor, really lazy, cheesy ending to a once great show, but after seeing those two Ncuti episodes, and the very same geek websites that absolutely savaged the ending of the Flash praise this crap, again I can't help but now not only view the Flash in a more positive light, but actually want to stick up for The Flash. I mean yeah it was still bad, but at least it had....... a plot. At least it wasn't 20 mins of the badguy and the Doctor playing notes at each other. Also again these geek sites say Tom Cavannagh was too ott as Thawne? Normally I'd agree. His performance in seasons 1-5 as Reverse Flash is one of the greatest of any villain, up there with Delgado, Hamill, Callisto etc, but in the last few years as the character became cartoonish, he did become a bit too OTT (though he was at least always still fun to watch.) Pretty bad scene, and not Tom's finest moment as the Reverse Flash, but again compared to this? At least it's actual sci fi and an attempt to take things seriously. The bar has now been set as low as it can ever possibly be thanks to new who. Only good thing is any credibility these geek websites like The Mary Sue could ever have is gone for good. Now if only they'd just f*ck off, maybe the bar for televisual sci fi can be raised again to the point where it not having panto dames and snot monsters makes it seem great.

They need to ditch the pronoun thing. They did it in Star Beast and it was obnoxious. Having Tennant just sit there and let a teenager question him for daring to assume an alien's pronoun is a real low point. It happened again in The Devil's Chord with the silly "I'm them" "You're who?" exchange. I would refer to someone by the pronouns they wanted (though, in real life, I'd be scared to get it wrong in case I get berated) but you can't expect many people who live outside of X not to be baffled by this.

Referring to someone as "they" is so unnaturalistic in a script. The Maestro is obviously a male, why can't we refer to him that way?

I was a bit confused. Is Jinx a drag queen who is a man or a trans woman?

I was a bit confused. Is Jinx a drag queen who is a man or a trans woman? Jinx is a drag queen, but I believe Jinx is considering a sex change? Sometimes transvestite and transexual can be mixed up, but they are ultimately not the same thing.
