the only good thing to come out of those sequences was the version where some Youtuber tuned out the music and you can hear Simm absolutely butchering the song

What's the point of Kate? Usually if there's a character that's related to an older one they usually share certain similarities. She's such a generic character in comparison to the Brig.

Probably to just have someone consistent to represent UNIT (considering how faceless it was during RTD1). When Moffat introduced her, she was a scientist, so the idea was that the Brigadier had inspired her to follow the Doctor's footsteps. |
