Monochrome was a technical feature which influenced how people personally experienced TV and has no bearing on the text itself. A character’s physical appearance is objective and DOES play into the text. Does he think we’re morons? Don’t bother. I already know the answer. Additionally, by framing what he stupidly perceives as an anti-disability trope alongside Black and White photography, Davies is tacitly admitting that he believes that Black and White is “problematic” and inferior to colour. Yes. That’s why I’m a Celebrity, Big Brother and Keeping Up with the Kardashians are superior to Cocteau’s La Belle et la Béte (1947), Welles’ Citizen Kane (1941), Capra’s It’s a Wonderful Life (1947), Bergman’s Persona (1966), Chaplin’s The Great Dictator (1940), Keaton’s Sherlock Jr (1924), Fellini’s 8 1/2 (1963), Kubrick’s Dr Strangelove (1964) and Spielberg’s Schindler’s List (1993). And, more importantly, why New Earth and Love and Monsters are superior to An Unearthly Child and The War Games.

Nu Nu Who, the Keef Starmer version of the programme, has begun with RTD's immense self-regard blowing up in his stupid face. Our introduction to the this glorious new pissney world spectacular adventure. For that reason alone, this should now be a time for celebration on here. Funny you should make that comparison. I showed that clip of Davies to my Dad earlier. He responded with: “What an arrogant prat. He sounds like Starmer”.

RTD - The Timeless Children is a universally loved classic, it's timeline must never be questioned or tarnished RTD - Genesis of The Daleks? Change everything

RTD handling it in his usual sympathetic way like when he told a life long fan to f*ck off, and when he banned me for bringing up Neil Patrick Harris' culinary habits. God damn that guys ego is huge.

How dignified. I could see Barry Letts behaving the same way, not! They want to go down in history as the team that gave exposure to disability issues, as well as John Barrowman's penis.

Smug c*nt. We'll see how f*cking smug he when his new golden era is shit and he's labelled the man who ruined Doctor Who by the majority of fans.

Na, f*ck it. I'm doing an Ian and completely eliminating NuWho trash from my life. I suffer from what the kids call "FOMO," fear of missing out, but to be honest I couldn't care less anymore about the specials. I was excited but the idea of three RTD era wankfests is far too much for me at this point. This man is an ogre. Whenever he's faced with any sort of criticism he acts like a condescending dickhead. I can't support his work. Same goes for Ben Cook and the other smug prats associated with NuWho.

The key word here is "precedent". The guy making the comment about the cybermen is exactly right. If you've done this, now what? Basically anything is up for grabs. Like Burrunjor says, if Hartnell can regenerate into Whittaker, that sets a precedent for all future Doctor Who, one that can go basically unfettered in the hands of lesser talents, a precedent that says "anything goes". The motto of Hell itself. In this case, a precedent has been set that states any (at least villainous) character exhibiting an apparent disability may be altered, and in some cases completely changed, in order to alleviate any suspicion that the disability is somehow connected causally with villainy. Ergo the cyberman comment is completely valid in this case. Not to mention RTD is operating on completely flawed logic and acting like a child. Most shows peter out and die when too many ridiculous precedents have been set. I think it's time we lay Doctor Who to rest.

Most shows peter out and die when too many ridiculous precedents have been set. I think it's time we lay Doctor Who to rest. 100 percent correct. For fun let's look at other villains being altered by this way of thinking. Well first off the Daleks themselves are disabled. They can't live outside of life support machines and their round bases are comparable to wheelchairs in terms of limited mobility, so the Daleks have to be retired or given legs. Sontarans are short people, and short guys are always getting picked on. Look at the little man complex that is always played out in popular culture or the small guy overcompensating by being really angry. The Sontarans are a classic example of that. Also as they have no hair, they are offensive to the bald community. Black Guardian, black, Black! DID YOU SAY BLACK! How dare you say that black = evil. Ice Warriors and their heavy breathing, what are we saying that asthmatics are creepy, unnerving and scary? How DARE you, change that right away. The Rani, what is a strong woman who is interested in science, of which there are too few in popular culture is to be portrayed as an evil bitch? Change that it's 2023, the Rani should be inspiring. The Monk, oh so are we picking on certain religions now? How dare you! Zygons, oh just f*cking typical isn't it? As a Scotsman it makes me sick, SICK to see a show where an English hero takes on monsters that live in Scotland. As though they need to come in and save our country, or as though we can't deal with our own monsters. f*cking English pig dogs. Autons, oh so suddenly Octopus' are things of evil now like the Nestene? Sea animals are being purged every single day and here we have the Doctor a hero to little boys and little girls, killing one. It's disgusting. Weeping Angels, it is completely inappropriate to tell people that if you look away from a dangerous man, that he will go away. That could lead to people being attacked. We need to change that.

This is very not PC, but when burrunjor mentioned the Black Guardian my mind went to Open All Hours.
"BLACK! Black, get him out of here, come on! Come on! He'll be much happier on the pavement!"
