"someone said that when writing Star Trek, Gene Roddenberry kept copies of some of the greatest sci fi stories under his desk, RTD kept copies of heat magazine." That's actually quite funny. Hmmm. I seem to have read that somewhere before...

It does vaguely ring a bell. Perhaps from an old iteration of the forum. Not necessarily the same person, mind, could be just a phrase they read that stuck in their mind.

That did happen to me once. I saw a guy make the EXACT same argument I did about why people who say a female Doctor is a ground breaking idea simply show off their ignorance of female heroes, and he even ran through my usual list of great female heroes pre Jodie, including the Heroic Trio! I honestly thought I'd written it for a second LOL, but I hadn't. He'd obviously just stumbled on one of my old rants and liked it and copied bits of it. Pretty sure nobody but me ever saw the Heroic Trio. Well maybe Maxil for the obvious reason. Yeah if there is another guy on earth who has watched it, it is Maxil hahaha.

Sorry Maxil. She should be my type. Jewish, big nose, plays a female villain, appears in genre shows etc. However she is a tribal moron who helped whip up a witch hunt against Jeremy Corbyn. Seriously read her tweets. That bitch is crazy, and not in a charming, eccentric, creative way like Paloma Faith, or a sexy domineering, going to chain you up way like Alti or big Fam. I mean in a tribal, in another life time she'd have burned you at the stake if her tribe had told her too kind of a crazy. The most mundane and tedious form of crazy there is. She got tits tho

And still no gig for the show. I remember someone on here once comparing him to the sad f*cker in a pub bothering some girl that's made it clear she's not interested. That was kind of cruel, (the guy who made that comment was a total dickhead to me, being one of many to call me boring. I've probably been called boring more times than any human being ever to live. I guess there must be some truth to it LOL.) Still I can't help but feel that pub comparison is true to some extent only because he seems so desperate to be part of their clique. I mean it's not just that he is a new who defender. No problem in that, but the way he goes into these lectures about how this is how the show should be and ANY deviation from the RTD template will kill it, and how RTD haters are sad unfulfilled people who need to know their place etc. It's all very cult like, but at the same time from someone not on the inside of the cult. Cheers Burrunjor I love how they've given him the most boring voice imaginable. I just watched the second one again and Jesus Christ! It's worse than I remember. f*cking hell, he actually refers to RTD's critics as lower in the pecking order as though that's a good thing! When you ask fans to do that, is it any wonder the backlash against the Fitzroy Crowd is so big?

Bad Wolf and Doomsday are awful. The public like reality television. The public are stupid. There's two very good reasons to watch Doomsday, actually. RTD probably remembered straight guys watch this show too. Harper sure likes a bit of cleavage in his stories. Dirty man

Camille Coudri is such a sweetheart. She's so cute and bubbly and just one of those people you want in your life. I'm guessing that's why Big Finish keep inserting Jackie Tyler LOL into every f*cking story. "Coming soon from Big Finish, a sequel to the Daleks Master Plan, where we see the Daleks and their former allies locked in a brutal war that pushes all species to their limits as they dream up new and devastating weapons to keep ahead of the other that reduce the galaxy to a lawless wasteland. Oh and Jackie Tyler's there too. Yeah this random woman from the 21st century with no powers or abilities, whose whole thing was to be the humdrum of every day life, and complained about her daughter going on strange adventures has apparently visited every corner of the universe without the Doctor or her daughters knowledge offscreen and wasn't changed by it at all, IE didn't understand he daughters plight and desire by all the things she saw or anything like that, nope. Just went back to her old life and attitude, Big Finish is totally canon. Oh and she also met every single Doctor prior to Eccelston, making her probably more prominent in the Doctors life than her daughter LOL but we won't mention that."
They should just give her a new role. Even by their standards the way Jackie gets brought into everything makes it a parody.

That Blum is STILL on that site defending badly written tripe is just plain sad. And still no gig for the show. Cheers Burrunjor I don't know what I find the most disturbing about Blum's attitude in these videos - the fact he refuses to accept that calling someone a 'Ming Mong' is wrong or that he believes Davies has the absolute right to abuse people because he's achieved a certain level of success and popularity in the world of TV drama. Horrible.

Horrible. It's just so creepy and cult like. As that guy pointed out, if I were to call a black person who was critiquing me the N word I couldn't just say "oh I'm referencing Blazing Saddles" and expect people to be okay with that. PS the Victoria Wood sketch was wrong to use that slur against people too. Also I don't think you can even defend him as a "it was the standards of the time" type thing either, as whilst the 00s was f*cking vile. Even then mongs and mongoloids were viewed as hideously outdated abusive terms. There is an episode of Extras broadcast in 2006 two years before this video with Jon Blum, where the agent played by Stephen Merchant who is meant to be an absolute f*cking moron uses it and its presented as the most cringe inducing, awful, insensitive thing that hurts the lead character Andy Millman's reputation. If only Andy had fans/cult followers like Jon Blum. I'm personally annoyed that I can't bring up the NPH cake to Jon Blum to see how he would have tried to spin that as being okay. Again though I always have to reiterate that I don't want him cancelled, it's just that when RTD is praised as this righteous figure who cares abouts social causes it's hilarious the amount of un PC shit he's done. From filming in Dubai, to bullying fat people, to using slurs that are to mentally ill people what the N word is to black people etc. Guy is probably the least PC producer in the history of DW after JNT haha.

So according to Blum, using offensive terms is OK as long as you are a successful TV producer. Off topic slightly but wasn't there an incident some years ago when Moffat supposedly ridiculed an Autistic fan at a convention? That seems to have been forgotten.

Off topic slightly but wasn't there an incident some years ago when Moffat supposedly ridiculed an Autistic fan at a convention? That seems to have been forgotten. I don't think it caught on because it was only rumoured. IE no videos or anything, so we can't be sure. From what I remember the fan said that he didn't like the Matt Smith era and Moffat blew up at him. He also apparently kept swearing at the event too, even though there were little children there. I do seem to recall the head of GB had to step in or something. It's a bit of a blur. To be honest I'm not sure Moff is that bad of a guy. Who knows I mean he is part of an obnoxious clique, but I haven't heard anything particularly bad about him, apart from that and he comes over well on social media (for instance he didn't block me when I brought up NPH. EVERY other writer on the show did, RTD, Paul Cornell, even Robert Shearman, who I've never interacted with but it would seem got wind of me LOL Moff took his lumps which earned him some respect from me.) Moff DID also have a falling out with a producer that ended with them shouting at each other all over the set in Matt's last season, but again who knows who was at fault there. For instance I don't blame Eric Saward for falling out with JNT. I blame him for being such a dick about it afterwards LOL. To be fair neither Moff or the producer did anything like that. Of course having said all this, I do think Moff's contributions to DW were by and large, barring the odd episode like Heaven Sent SHIT post Matt Smith, and had it not been for Chibnall he would be the man who killed it. Still overall RTD who ironically (so far) did the least damage of the three has definitely come over as the most unpleasant and extremely hypocritical and cliquey, but then again I don't know the man.
