the only thing I really enjoy about Two Doctors is Troughton and Frazer's chemistry. They're both absolutely on fire and it's kind of embarrassing to return to Colin and Nicola's tiresome bickering after their scenes. Frazer was right in that he should've been re-added to the TARDIS team. I think Jamie would've been a solid filter between Six and Peri. He could deal with the Doctor's attitude and also be a comforting presence for the latter. Do they bicker that much? I always figured that by The Two Doctors their relationship was settling down after the initial bombastic mania and after-effects of the 6th Doctors regeneration? The bickering bizarrely and inexplicably makes a come back at the tail end of "Timelash" however when Saward was padding out the TARDIS scenes, but from around Vengeance on Varos onwards, the relationship seems more relaxed and jovail once Peri gets accustomed to the 6th Doctors spikey bombast. Jamie rejoining the TARDIS team is an interesting proposition however. I always thought it more strange in The Two Doctors how The 2nd Doctor and Jamies relationship seems more spikey and antagonistic than usual. ("If you will persist in talking in that mongrol dialect" etc) I don't think they properly settled down until season 23. This was 1985, so post-Blake's 7/Caves of Androzani Holmes. At that point, he was probably used to writing with a more cynical bent.

I quite like The Invasion of Time even though everyone seems to loathe it. Part one to four is slightly above average stuff, but once the Sontarans appear it gets really enjoyable for me. Aww, Rodan.
