A few people on here don't like Harry Potter at all. I've never cared much for the books, but I really like the first three movies (the fourth is good too, just not as good). I grew up watching the first two movies on VHS around 2003 and I remember playing the PS1 game for the first film in my youth (about twenty years ago now). I have so many great memories of the Columbus instalments as well as Azkaban, which I vividly remember seeing in the cinema back in 2004. They were definitely some of the movies of my childhood along with the first two Home Alone films, Dragonheart and Homeward Bound.

I quite like the books in a casual fan sense (considering I'm not the demographic they're aimed at) but find the movies to be hit or miss. (1-3 are great, 4's a bit patchy, 5 and 8 are good but 6 and 7 are rather dour and dull).
That and as with DW, I can't stand an large chunk of the fandom. *vomit*

I always enjoyed them, books and films. I think some serious mistakes were made with the later films, as they began to leave out some rather vital plot points and I didn't care for the washed-out cinematography. But overall, they were good.

I grew up in them, though the version my pops read to me and my brother is not necessarily a word for word account, but 10x funnier.
The films are good though I do feel more and more liberties were taken over time. Still a fun watch and my wife loves them.
Odd point but it’s one me and my wife discusse, HP really doesn’t set any boundaries for magic. For example in EarthSea or Eragon, you must learn both the true name of the elements you wish to invoke, and there are limits to what you can caste without training or practice, in fact some spells are impossible because they will sap all you strength and kill you. I mean Lord of the Ring dose not set up any rules per say either but then only as select few characters can even do magic.
Yet without any laws or limitations I’d rather hard to tell what makes a truly great wizard in Harry Potter.

They're alright. Honestly the first one is the only I revisit on a remotely regular basis.
