(the former's speed is fixed I believe. I'll have to check) This shit has become the bane of my life. As you're probably aware, it's a problem that extends far beyond NuWho. It almost makes me want to give up on collecting physical media entirely. I hate that I can't just walk into HMV, pick something and enjoy it. There should at least be a system of mandatory warning labels. Why should I have to spend my time scouring obscure forums to figure out whether I'd be wasting money on what's essentially a defective product?

Must admit, I've only ever had problems with BBC stuff in the past. And even then it goes back to the dvd range. I still get a fair bit of physical media, but had no idea this was quite such a common thing.

Season 1 Ncuti Maxil? To quote the Cat. "Ohhhhhhhhh you're sick I want no part of this depravity." Seriously though I had 0 idea you liked Ncuti's season that much? All opinions are welcome but I don't know what there is too like in it? It doesn't have a woman as the lead so right away that's a big drop off for you. I'd rather own it than any Capaldi series. In fact, Capaldi is the only Doctor I've never actually owned anything from. The only NuWho product I ever owned was the The Dalek and Cyberman collections. Although they went the way of eBay in the end. NuWho is one of the few shows that has actually seemed worse on re-watch than first time round. lol Having said that, I've never re-watched anything after S5 apart from a couple of Dalek stories. I will say this though; as far as Dalek stories go, the Jodie ones were better than that abysmal Moffat 2-parter with Davros. I watched that again once to see if it was as bad as I thought it was the first time, and came to the conclusion that it's the worst TV Dalek story of all time. Infact I'd even go as far as to say that all the Moffat Dalek stories except for Into the Dalek (which in itself isn't anything special) are the worst of the lot.

I've not noticed this 'speed' thing elsewhere tbh, just on those two occasions. Apparently some people have claimed there's a speed thing on The Avengers DVDs but they've always seemed right to me. Or maybe that's the US version?

Yeah, the Moffat era Dalek stories are rubbish. The Cybermen stories are even worse except bits and pieces of the last one. It wasn't a great era for the Daleks, Cybermen or the Master.

That Timelord Victorious set I've mentioned a few times is only £10 in the sales. It's probably no use to people who already collect the season boxsets, but for those that just want a slice of classic Who to watch on Blu ray it's very good. Planet of the Daleks, Genesis of the Daleks, The Deadly Assassin, State of Decay and The Curse of Fenric are the stories. There's also The Runaway Bride and The Waters of Mars to represent NuWho. Not sure what all this Timelord Victorious bollocks is all about. I really only bought it for the stories rather than as part of an arc that I'm not interested in.

There's a decent set of Matt Smith Christmas specials going for cheap on Amazon. Four episodes, two featuring Jenna and one featuring Karen barring her cameos in a few of the others. I might get it just because I love Christmas and NuWho babes. That sums me up really. When the awful day comes I want "lover of Christmas and Doctor Who hotties" on my gravestone.

Karen's not really in any of the specials, is she? Not more than a minute anyway.
