I've not read for ages, but in September I'm probably going to go back to reading one fiction book a week. I love relaxing a reading an engaging book even if I've read it before or it's a novelization of something I've seen on TV. Target Novels are the best to read if you want something a bit lighter which I often do.

Pretty much never these days, sadly. Sad really, I was a voracious reader as a kid, had a library card before I went to infants school. I've degenerated.

A lot, however because of my Dyslexia reading can be very taxing at times so I tend to go audio when I can. I'm always listening to something.
That said I've never forgotten the joy of just sitting and reading.
My collection is tons of dinosaur books. If I get time I'll make a list this weekend.

I've got a collection of spin off Dirty Harry books. Anyone read them? What they like?

I've only seen the first Dirty Harry film. I like it, but I much prefer Stallone's knock off Dirty Harry film, "Cobra".

I read a lot more now that I'm studying. I'm reading Neil Gaiman and William Shakespeare for my course. I've never actually read a full Shakespeare story before, the uncultured swine that I am.

I don't read nearly enough as I should. Give or take, I can comfortably get through about 100 pages a day, but I have a lot to get on with and a job that eats up so much of my time and energy. I have so many books I need to get through before going to university as well. It seems so dauntless.

Reading Anne Frank's diary which my sister let me borrow. It's such a captivating read. Anne comes across as remarkably articulate for her age. She almost comes back to life through the pages with her witticisms and adorable personal touches. It's all rather sad though for obvious reasons.

"Rather sad" might be the understatement of the century lol. Also why were you reading Neil Gaiman for an English course?

I think the most heartbreaking bit is the "In spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart" entry which hits hard when you consider what was going to happen to her and her family. I wish I still had the faith in humanity to believe in that idea. I suppose if the whole world was full of Anne Franks it would be a significantly better place. I was reading Neil Gaiman's Stardust for my final Uni assignment which I'm currently writing. I'm no fan of him or the story itself really, but I needed a comparison to Shakespeare's The Tempest.

Couldn't you use, y'know, an actual work of literature? Marlowe's Dr. Faustus immediately springs to mind as an obvious comparison to that particular play.

No, because I've been assigned three books to revise by the uni for the assignment. I had to pick two of the three to use in my assignment to discuss realism and fantasy. I thought there was more to discuss in Stardust in terms of fantasy than one of the other stories. I can't pick books out of thin air, much as I'd like to.
