Please for the love of all that's holy, give the Sea Devils a new score. Whats up with the score, I don't recall it being overly bad? Nothing, aside from being electronic ear rape

"BLIP BLOP BLEEP BLOOP BLONK"
What's wrong with that? Great artists never look at the screen when composing...

So, no new scores then, just the bloops in surround sound. How is it that the reveal of the Sea Devil in the trailer is better than any monster reveal that there's ever been in NuWho? Sonic lipstick though. f*ck off Fathead.

Greetings good people of the Hive!
I'm a fan of the JP era in particular so was really looking forward to Season 9 coming out on blu-ray. Sad to say though, this trailer disappoints somewhat as it's way too "New Poo" in tone and I'm not enthused by the new extras for this release either.
(Jo) Granted these stories are likely to appear better on blu-ray of course, given that they're supposed to be remastered in superior quality if compared with the original dvd releases. But I don't find anything here that entices me to upgrade my old dvds. The main drawback for me is again the lack of any new optional special effects. I'd really appreciated the way Terror of the Autons now looks on the Season 8 blu ray that was released previously. Such new effects are quite rightly only optional but at least can offer something new especially for fans who'd already bought these sories on dvd (and hey maybe on VHS too in the past!). Nothing new on here though - ok I know Day of the Daleks has some fairly recent optional effects but those were already released a while ago on dvd so are hardly new by now. Surely at least something could've been done to offer a few enhanced effects for The Time Monster and maybe some improved moments in The Mutants as well? I was similarly discouraged by the lack of any new effects available with the recent Season 2 blu-ray set - I mean The Chase in particular just cries out for new effects surely? That's why I didn't buy that one either. I know many probably might not give a toss about new effects but for me they're probably the main attraction to upgrade from dvd. When they're done sympathetically and hopefully subtly keep to the spirt of the original then they can work well I think. For instance, I love the way new effects were done for the original series Star Trek dvd releases. But it seems a bit disheartening when the BBC fail, or perhaps simply can't be bothered, to consistently offer this option for their "TrueWho" releases. Presumably they're more interested in wasting money on further "Doctor Woke" episodes and trailers with "New Who" links rather than enhancing options for their classic era releases.
So not much incentive then for me to buy all this again.

I must admit the lack of new fx on the last two sets is starting to look a bit slack and cheap. Most people wrote it off on season 2 due to the sheer number of eps they had to restore, but what's the excuse? And that trailer was pure shite.

Please for the love of all that's holy, give the Sea Devils a new score. Perhaps one by Aphex Twin.

Un-f*cking-believable. They're actually retaining the Chibnall branding exclusively for the classic series blu-rays despite all other Doctor Who media dropping it within days of his departure. They really do hate the fans.

It's probably just for consistency. Should've just used the Pertwee logo though.

They really do hate the fans. Sadly they're pandering to the OCD crowd, who were already having conniption fits that the releases wouldn't match the moment the new logo dropped.

Apparently Fraser Hines and Wendy Padbury have spilled at a convention that they've recorded stuff for a Mind Robber making of, perhaps indicating season 6 is on the way. My guess is very late this year or very early next.

Ah 6 is my 3rd favourite after seasons 5 and 4 respectively. Very happy about this news.

I was hoping for anniversary themed seasons as it's the 60th anniversary this year. Season 25 would be nice!
