Ice Warriors for me, by far the most atmospheric.

Seeds of Death. Terry Scully's character is a great foil for the Ice Warriors. He was a really good actor. He always reminded me of Robert Carlyle, not just physically, but in terms of bringing a lot of pathos and tragedy to his characters. Shame he never got that many good roles.

I also love the Ice Lord. It's another Mekon inspired leader, but the actor is great and the costume still holds up.

Went for Curse has Jo in it she has great chemistry with pat troughton's son David who plays king Peladon love that the ice Warriors turn out not to be the bad guys in this one great twist to it plus better combat scene then monsters with Grun and Jon Pertwee and love the scenes with him and Aggedor . Great story

I prefer Monster of the two. At least the Ice Warriors are bad, there's no simpering lurve story and the Queen is a dang hottie.

Since this is in general, I'm going to count New Who and say Empress of Mars.

The original Ice Warriors is a slog, both Peladon stories aren't really focused on them, Cold War is very forgettable. And the Seeds of Death is fun, but not anything thought-provoking.

Empress of Mars felt very classic to me, and a breath of fresh air when it was first aired. It was a traditional story of the Doctor negotiating a peace between two warring sides, with very little filler (basically just the disposable Missy side-plot that I completely ignored). I liked the Empress character, and it was cool to see Alpha Centauri return.

Mission to Magnus would have been a real clunker had it been made. Then again, it probably wouldn't have been as bad as Mindwarp. Six vs the Ice Warriors does sound like an interesting match up though.
